Re: 3D Printed 10mm Nut Driver Bit
You should probably make a batch with Tackle Tour Forum on the shaft and sell them on here to members ;) I know I would buy one. I cannot print text on the shank. the flats on the hex is 1/8"(.125) The 3d printer would print the text, however it would not be legible. I tried printing it on the barr...

Re: 3D Printed 10mm Nut Driver Bit
Thanks Guys. Actually, I didn't expect it to last long since it was plastic, but I haven't broken one yet. I have quite a few things other than the handle I want to make. Including some gears, star drags and some misc. other reel parts. I also want to make a worm gear pawl. I want to see how smooth ...

3D Printed 10mm Nut Driver Bit
Don't know if there are any guys on here doing 3d printing, but I made a 10 mm nut handle bit that fits a 1/4" socket about 6 months ago and it has worked flawlessly. Most of the nuts were slightly loose in the nut driver. From cleaning so many reels, I used to put tape on the inside of a std 10 mm ...

Bearings (oil and or grease)
So I've been doing some un-scientific experiments with oil and grease on bearings. Now let me clear this up first. The bearing on the spool always has oil (TSI321). What I used to do was use oil on every bearing in my reel from spool bearing to sideplate bearings, main gear bearing and worm gear bea...

Re: Automotive Oil Changes
I'm over 60 and still change my own oil. I just don't trust anyone to actually do it without me checking afterwards. If I have to check afterwards I might as well do it myself. I will do it as long as I can get under my vehicles. I am not brand loyal and never have been. My 94 truck and 03 Tahoe get...

Re: tsi 321
I have been using TSI 321 for 10 years with no issues. I only use it on all the bearings inside my baitcaster and friends reels. This includes, spool bearings, carrier bearings, worm gear bearings and main shaft bearings. I have used TSI 321 with Yamaha lube, Shimano drag grease, Super lube, Abu Gar...

Shimano Stradic CI4+ 2500 Spinning Reel
Before I get into my question, I have some of the original pearl colored Stradics that came out back in the day. I want to say 1990's ? Anyway, back then I cleaned one of the reels only to find out when I put it back together, the reels wasn't as smooth as it was before I took it apart. Apparently b...

Re: tsi 321
I use it on all of my reels along with all of the reels I clean for my fishing club. No problems at all. I apply it once a year on my reels, and lasts the entire time. I do not mix oils. Personally I would pick a oil and stick to it. If you want to try a different oil, remove the first one thorough...

Re: tsi 321
Wish we could get the stuff here in Australia... Like easily from a retailer and not have to import it at an abhorrent price with even more an abhorrent postage fee! Slazmo, Look up Smooth Drag and see how much Dawn would charge you for shipping to Australia. I buy the big bottle. Do you have to pa...

Re: Degreaser for gear set
I do the same as above, except my final cleaning in the ultrasonic is naphtha in a small jar with the lid lightly screwed on.

Shimano Aldebaran Purchase
I am looking for (6) new Shimano Aldebarans. I believe Tackle Trap doesn't sell Shimano anymore (I maybe wrong). Where are some good places with good prices? If you want to PM me that would be fine as well. Thanks in advance

Re: Shimano Core 51 MG7
Clean them just like you do any bearings. It’s just a pressed in shield(not sealed) as opposed to a shield held in with a retainer. Ultrasonic does a great job cleaning out those bearings without removal. It is possible to remove the shields, but there is a risk of damage. That's all the info I nee...
