5 lb, 13 oz Bass--Sunday's 'catch'

Post by Lightninrod » Mon Apr 05, 2004 6:01 am

She was the only one that picked up my bait which was a GYCB Lizard(black with blue flakes) T-rigged with a Gambler, Rattling screw-in 1/4 oz weight and a 4/0 Sugoi(GYCB's too) hook. I can't tell if she's full of roe or just 'chubby' .

What does GYCB stand for? Is that a brand name?

Sorry qa. It stand's for http://www.yamamoto.baits.com/gycb-index.html Gary Yamamoto Custom Baits, one of if not the best, soft-plastic mf'rs out there. They also designed the best s/p hook out there IMO, know as the Sugoi(made by Gamakatsu) hooks.

Yes, I stocked up with about 60 senkos for the upcoming season from Gary Yamamoto.

Senkos are one of the best soft baits for $6 plus a pack. I however, prefer the soft baits I found for $3-$4 a pack, which are even better. I guess it all depends how much you want to pay. Although it is hard to put the Senkos down once you have developed a lot of confidence in them.

At least consider these before spending anymore more money on the big name brands:

Can you buy Senkos in bulk up to 100 at a time? Can you custom design Senkos? No and no. Try these and save a ton of money. I have started using them and I love them.

There are custom, hand-poured baits that are not well known, but are at the very least, as good as the popular brands.

I used a new bait today to catch this http://www.f150online.com/galleries/pic ... &anum=3723 5lb, 5oz Bass. It's made by a member here known as Fishin'-n-Fool. They worked very well as the Bass were active and taking floating/skipping baits. I caught a 2lber and about 3 or 4 keepers on it too today.

Z,

I like your new avatar! I do use other brands like wave worms and yum dingers. I keep the good ole' senkos around too though because I like the colors they offer.

Nice fish lightning

I think you should try those worms I mentioned. Also check out wackyworm.com

The prices of those fish n' fools baits are outrageous. I forget what they were exactly, but I think Senko's were cheaper.
