Frogs and the JDM Difference vs Preference

Post by goldrod » Fri Apr 16, 2021 5:00 pm

Talking hollow belly 🐸 frogs
Do you believe I that there’s a difference JDM vs. USDM or is it just
Your preference to using one or the other ?

Usually the difference is about $10

Might be designed but different but only difference is cost and jdm seems to be thinner/softer

I like the Evergreen Kicker Frog because of the single hook design. I lost my personal best bass (at the time) because of the double hook design and harder plastic of another frog that shall remain nameless.

I use both with similar success. The soft bodied ones seem to have more success on actually landing fish. Maybe it’s because there is less mass (weight) when the fish is trying to shake it loose. JDM frogs do seem a little softer.

I'm interested in hearing about some jdm hollow body frogs. I've basically settled on a spro 65 but throw buzz frogs 90% of the time. Not the biggest fan of the spro either. I'm going to look at that Evergreen single hook frog Johnny A mentioned, I like the idea with the single hook.

I think the Boze Sumo frog was the first softer JDM frog. I threw it alot in the early 2000's. It was too soft to be durable though. That can be an issue with the softer frogs. Tacticalbassin.com does a lot of videos on the difference between frogs on the market, JDM included, if you don't already know. There is a ridiculous amount of frogs on the market today!
