Name a movie series

Where the sequel was better than the original?

Another 48hours with Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte is my vote

Young Guns 2.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Surprised that The Godfather/The Godfather II wasn't the first response.

Agreed. On a sillier (but honest) note, Friday the 13th one and two may make the list for me.

Well, it's definitely NOT the new Coming 2 America vs the original  Kidding, it wasn't terrible, but the first one was a classic.

I liked the 3rd in the Indiana Jones trilogy (Last Crusade) better than the first (Raiders of the Lost Arc) but the second one (Temple of Doom) was by far the worst...

Kill Bill Vol.2 but that was also more a continuation of the story rather than a sequel.

I'm not playing this game right

Coming to America 2 was so bad that I could not finish it.
In all honesty I was never a fan of the first one but my wife loves it. She watches it like a real life love story and gets all yucky over it. So I have watched it with her over the years and it’s ok. To hear her talk about the sequel is funny. She said they should have left it alone.

Coming to America 2 was so bad that it should never be talked about again!!

I am a huge fan of the original and have seen it way too many times over the years. I had to watch the new one, but doubt I'll watch it again. Probably the funniest part of the whole movie was the cab driver scene compared in context to the cab driver scene in the original  Ok ok, we'll stop talking about that terrible sequel. Carry on!

After watching the original movie many times as well, I'm still picking up on little things. Last time I watched, I noticed the balloons on the stage behind Randy Watson have Soul Glo printed on them.

I love horror movies. I liked several of the sequels to Resident Evil, as well as Underworld. Nothing wrong with either original, but the sequels did a better job of building the mythos of the franchise imo.
