Thanks. Yeah they do. From my understanding between the models there is a change in guide placement as well so even though they use the same blank this also supposedly contributes to the different characteristics in how the rod handles and behaves.

Yep. Placement and guide style. I can't imagine needing more than two double foot guides for any bass rod, but I know some of the EG stuff has all double foots, or half double foots.
Re: Evergreen International Dire Wolf Wild 7
I don't like how Evergreen is nowdays making more and more heavy rods...
Yes it can be phenomenal well balanced but at the end of the day the weight its there.
I see how for instance hybrid rods as xtreme cranking rods from shimano&jackall are ultralight rods being also powerful and lengthy.
Obviously the magic of M40X must be there in the whole performance but it would have been great that final rod would have been lighter.

For anyone interested, JDM Tackle Heaven now has both versions up for preorder. I haven’t pulled the trigger yet, don’t know why postponing the inevitable
Oh and I gotta say, with the name Dire Wolf Wild 7, this rod better be absolutely bad ass

Thanks for the heads up! I am in the same position as you. 100% agree on the name too, this may sound crazy but although I have a gap in my lineup for this type of rod that's the main reason I want it so I hope it lives up to it hahaevilcatfish wrote: ↑Sat Oct 30, 2021 10:19 amFor anyone interested, JDM Tackle Heaven now has both versions up for preorder. Re: Evergreen International Dire Wolf Wild 7
Little more info up, link below, and it has me having second thoughts on this rod. Looks like they are using the Fuji TCS reel seat, which I’m not a big fan of. I understand that there is a reason for this, but I would’ve really preferred an ECS like on the super stallion. Not saying this is a deal breaker, but I’m hesitant to spend that kind of money to be bothered by the reel seat

Re: Evergreen International Dire Wolf Wild 7
What would you guys pick between this and the Heracles Leopard for chatterbaits?
Re: Evergreen International Dire Wolf Wild 7
Direwolf hands down, and I’ve never seen it. The technology is far superior to the leopard which is a tank of a rod. Brett Hite had his hands in the development of the leopard for chatterbaits and he made it a big deal because he excels at the technique. I’m sure he could do it with an ugly stick. Get a rod you have options with.HobeyBaker wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 6:19 amWhat would you guys pick between this and the Heracles Leopard for chatterbaits?

I think it would probably come down to personal preference as to whether or not you like glass rods for the technique. If you are in the "chatterbaits have to be thrown on a glass rod" camp, then the Leopard is probably the better choice. Personally, I'd choose the Dire Wolf as it seems to fit my preferences a little better and is perhaps a bit more versatile. Nice rods, whichever one you pick!HobeyBaker wrote: ↑Mon Jan 10, 2022 6:19 amWhat would you guys pick between this and the Heracles Leopard for chatterbaits?
*full disclosure, I haven't fished either rod but am considering the Dire Wolf

I ordered a RS version. I plan on using it for chatterbaits, but it sounds like it will do a lot of things well. I might have opened Pandora’s box. Lol
