So looking at the blank picture, it looks to share some of the X4's blank construction characteristics???
Hold on,

Just went to MB USA to compare to X4 blanks, and the record Breaker looks to have 2 extra layers vs. the X4. One in the core and one on the outside....interesing. Found one online for about $540.

I don't see much talk about this rod. This post if from 2011 and it was the only post I found on any of the sites. Has anyone used it? How does it compare to other models in the destroyer series as a jig rod?

the new rod is the same power , maybe alittle faster - much littler , more sensitive

overall, It's got much more lighter so has better sensitivity, and the grip is probably preference, some would not like. its kinda thin,,,

freakin sweet stick........

I know I am a little late to the party but, just weighed them both, 5.9oz for the Triple 7, and 5.0oz for the Record Breaker. Similar balance but Record Breaker a little faster taper. Both super sweet sticks, remember the Triple Seven also has wraparound guides. Hope this helps.

Do you think the Phase3 F7-77X makes a good swimbait rod? Or the action is too fast, more a flipping stick?

The 7'11" would be a much better choice for Swimbaits. The 7'7" is not so much a flipping stick as it reminds me of a slightly heavier powered Loomis 894 jwr. At least in my hands anyway.
