I just took mine out in the water today and it is awesome! I caught a couple nice walleye with it and it handled them no problem!!
I ended up ordering another one I might have a problem....

Anyone know or can confirm the body material on this reel? I assume it is magnesium but please correct me if im wrong.

I haven't owned the older vanquish to compare to the new one, so take my thoughts FWIW. From my short time with the 2016 vanquish, i can say it's equally as smooth as my stella FI's. It feels noticeably lighter on the retrieve which I would attribute to a lighter rotor, and therefore makes the reel feel a little less powerful than the stella. This may not be a bad thing, especially when using it for finesse techniques. The drag on the new vanquish (so far) is very smooth and powerful, and never have I felt out-gunned by a fish. So if you are strictly looking at the performance in terms of smoothness of retrieve and drag, the 16 vanquish is very close to the stella FI. If you like raw power in a spinning reel, the stella is the clear winner (obviously considering the price difference).

The only thing I'm not crazy about is the Ci4+ handle...it looks sort of cool, but IMO it cheapens the look of the reel. I'm now looking around for an aftermarket handle to spice it up a little. Based on pics of the previous vanquish, this new handle IMO is a downgrade.
