the monkey bit me today. Ordered the Steez AGS 7'9'' XH for 377 USD shipped. Could not pass on this..

Hopefully should do what I am looking for, the Racing Design at double the price was just too expensive for the little gain on performance.

Good choice. I think that rod will fit your needs better. There is gain in performance overall from the RD blank, but sensitivity isn't far off and the toray 1100g recovery rate mixed with the taper and shorter length on the JiggaStick makes the AGS the better option for punching. The price was definitely right on that one. Very good deal. Let me know how it works out.

I absolutely love the RD 7011HRB, I was worried about the short handle but after using it for frogs, jigs, and plastics I’m not sure I’d change a thing. The stoutness of the hookset is impressive to say the least.

Right now I’m scoring it as my favorite frog rod of all time (as crazy as that might sound) and i spend a huge amount of time throwing frogs.

How has the rod been?
I've been rereading this post a little more in-depth ..

Actually I have not been using the rod that much (maybe 2 times in total) since I got it. I decided that the rod should be my dedicated heavy punching rod and is currently paired with an Daiwa Elite P/F and 78# braid.
