I had some trouble using the old Hedgehog device for swapping bearings. Tried the BoCA plier for the first time yesterday and scratched the tip of the spool shaft that I was working on (ASC). Please, share experiences with bearing swap on these small spools - thx

Looking good and bravo for getting some micro bearings. I would throw one of those on the spool of the SLP and leave the IXA micro that came with it on the KTF, and put the Air BFS in the sideplate.
Start up and rolling internia should be almost the same on both the Air BFS and KTF Micro

But..I almost remember you purchased (2) CT SV's?
Thanks! Yeah, I trust on KTF IXA bearing and as well Hedge's micro bearings. I keep IXA on KTF and install Hedge to reel. Another one Hedge bearings is going to go to original spool or RCSB. One of those which I'm thinking to be used lighter duty. (Another one is going to as heavy duty that Alphas is reasonable to use.)

No, I have only bought one Alphas but now I have 3 spools to it. (But I'm still thinking to buy also ACS :D )

I have used 'new' Hedgehogg spool pin remover:
https://www.hedgehog-studio.co.jp/product/2
After I tried to remove pin with Leathermann from $20 chinese reel and scratched shaft. Hedge's tool has been working good so far in my use. It's just needs precise alignment. And if it doesn't go exact straight => open screw and try again.

Yes, that is the newer style Hedgehog device, which may be a better fit for the small spools...

When your HH Pin Remover takes a dive on you, or even worse, screws up a pin so bad it needs drilled out (happened on my IP Honeycomb), look to the YT Fusion Pin Remover, it has a shorter and stouter shaft (less twist) and provides better clearance than the HH. The small push through rod side of the YT still leaves something to be desired, but in my opinion it's much better than the HH.
Search in the Mail Call thread for my synopsis on the YT and rant on the HH
If anything, it is more noobie friendly.

I believe it to be the same/similar one that KTF sells. It will probobly be the next one I get. I've heard good things about them and just looking at the design, they look superior to even the YT Fusion.

I have the original silver one, and if the new red and black one works as well as the original, you'll be really happy with it. I love mine, and I'm really picky about my tools.

Purchased two red-black slp and look forward to using them.
I have been picky-ish with my tools, but not always easy to know what works best with few reviews out there (and many recommendations for hedgehog and boca).

Related - I have had so many split ring pliers but Texas Tackle just rule and I now have 4 orange TT pliers for home, car, kayak, reserve. Love them...

Great price on the reel... but the $25 ship chg and 15.87 handling chg put it out of contention with Digitaka and Japan Lure shop.

The red-black SLP pin remover is fantastic. Used it yesterday on two Daiwa ASC spools - it is much more safe, sturdy and foolproof than other similar pin removers that I have used (eg old hedgehog, aliexpress diy, boca pliers).
Superb “protection” of the spool rim with no need for extra security measures.

Is KTF spool for steez CT, sv type spool or is it with fixed inductor?

It’s Kahen style(?) which is virtually same as sv inductor. Moving inductor with activation ramp. Inductor stays in a magnetic field until revolutions are that low that spring force is bigger than magnetic force.

After a long (fishless) vacation, I arrive home to a bevy of goodies. Good news is, the KTF 30mm spool for Alphas/Millionare works amazing in the Steez CT SV and might be the preffered choice if your planning on swinging middle weight lures. (5-12 grams).
Keep in mind Emperor Sawa designed the Steez 30mm spool for pitching or full casting 2-3 gram lures. The extra .5mm shim in the 30MM A/M spool seems to bring the right amount of control if your using more than 5 grams. That's my initial impression anyway.

I was able to get +/- 55 meters of the Varivas 1.5 PE (.205mm) on the spool, with some room to spare. Add a 5 ft leader of Tripleten mono and an IXI Shad, strap it to a Oltre 6'7M..pure evil :evil1:
