Shimano Exsence vs Daiwa Certate LT

Post by jerkbait22 » Sat May 25, 2019 11:19 am

Is there anyone who has both reels? I’m looking for a reel to pair with my shimano conquest 842 SJR. The Exsence is the natural choice, but I’ve seen some videos claiming the certate LT is even smoother than the Stella.

Also, it looks like the certate LT 2500 is the same size as the Exsence 3000? They both have the same spool cap.

I’ve been eyeing the Exsence but if the certate LT offers better performance for less money, then it would seem to be the better choice.

I'd be curious too!
Why is there a concerted effort of hate? And why is it allowed?

Our new Certate LT models will be in stock soon. I'm looking forward to trying it out myself. I've played around with it but haven't fished it yet. I have a feeling it's going to be a very popular reel for guys who don't want to spend Exist money but want a premium quality spinning reel.

I recently bought the Exsence. I have been very pleased with it. The 2019 Certate does look good and it is cheaper. This guy in the videos below reviews reels and does a nice job.

I have the Exsence on a conquest 842c and its awesome, the balance is also excellent.

I do however want to try the Certate LT though.

One of the big reasons I choose shimano is if I ever need their support or I need to order parts it makes life easy....

The Tackle Trap is an authorized Daiwa warranty center, and one of the few Exist LT certified centers in the US. Parts and service with Daiwa is top notch, very few issues.

Our Certate LT's have arrived and are shipping out. They feel and look amazing in hand. I'll have one paired up with either the Steez 76MML-AGS or maybe the Megabass Brigand shortly. It's hard to take the Exist LT off that 76MML-AGS :D

Very interested in your feedback on the LT after you get some time on the water. Thinking about moving up from the Luvias. Hmmm, 2500 or 3000.....

Send the Exist to me :big grin:

I'm curious of the difference between the CERTATELT3000-CXH and CERTATELT3000-XH, it looks like the CXH is the compact
version but does that also mean the XH model has larger gears?

The 3000-CXH is the compact body design, correct. The 3000-XH is slightly larger in body to accommodate the larger gears when compared to the CXH.

Can you feel a difference between the two?
So is the compact a 2500 size with a 3000 spool basically?
Thanks for all the info.

You're welcome. Yes, you can feel and see a difference between Certate LT 3000-CXH and Certate LT 3000-XH. The 3000 is slightly larger, slightly heavier. It would be better suited to inshore guys or striper guys over the CXH model, but it's certainly not too large for bass fishing.

Certate LT 3000-CXH ordered.

It might take a minute to get it, so I hope its worth the wait....

Let us know what you think. I'm in line for a new finesse rod/reel for bottom contact/DS with an XF action. Maybe MB addermine. I'm finding myself resorting to more finesse techniques these days especially during the summer in the northeast. Waiting for iCast to see if anything new comes out first. I'd pair it with Certate or Exsence, or potentially something altogether new from iCast.

The Addermine is awesome.

I got a Megabass flyssa that I will be putting the Certate on, it should balance the rod out pretty well also :big grin:
I will post back as soon as I get it...

Please do! That would be an interesting combo as my dream setup of a Steez AGS 7'6" and Exist 19 is exactly that... a dream. :)
