New Megabass Destroyers

Post by jerkbait22 » Fri Feb 07, 2020 7:49 am

Saw a post last night regarding a new destroyer release out of Japan. Wondering if/when they will make it stateside? Everyone hide your wallets

The hookup tackle is posting videos in their Instagram story from the show in japan. Some very cool stuff, including the new destroyer rods

If the “dark sleeper” model is indeed intended for the dark sleeper then I’m thinking it will be a nice tube rod as well. May have to get one....

Yes, saw it on THUT instagram story. I also noticed one looks to be a chris zaldain signature model with some sort of carbon fiber grip.

Hopefully M Perry will see this post and can give us some more detail as to if they are coming stateside and if so, when.

They have some cool new lures too; a smaller i Wing and crawfish style dark sleeper.

I don’t have social media accounts either, but asked to use my wife’s. Wonder if the video was taken down? Only saw videos with older material ca. ‘19. No new destroyers or baits. The Keep cast video was cool though; those shows in Japan are so much better than Icast.

They won’t be getting my money, the new destroyers look cheap IMO... Oh well, I need to cut back on my fishing purchases anyway!

I watched another video that stated they are due out this summer. I was getting ready to buy a Javelin but now I may wait for the new line to come out. They apparently feature new graphite called "5-D" which is supposed to be lighter and stronger than the current line.

I will say that lock nut doesn’t do much for me. However, I really like the nut on the revoltage rods they showed

It looked like the rods are using a new reel seat design with an even smaller trigger :(

Yeah the lock nut is the part really killing it for me, not too sure about the new reel seat either. I guess I blazed through the rest and didn’t see the revoltage rods...
