Olympic Vigore
Re: Olympic Vigore
Hi guys,
They finally launched the 610ML.
I would hope for fast action rather than RF. But seeing the power rating I would tend to say that it has a good backbone.

Re: Olympic Vigore
saw that a couple days back, RF probably more versatile than F and if I recall correctly this new 610ML is intended for multi finesse applications... not sure why this model takes so much longer though.
3/8oz max sounds normal to me, but based on my limited experience with 742M the combination of 1100G and nanoalloy does offer a solid feel of power from the blank. hoping it is a good stick for drop shot and small paddle tails.

I want to purchase the 6'10 medium light. Where might be the best places to source one?
Re: Olympic Vigore
For me it’s jpangler. Send an email to Kazu, he makes good price and check quickly the availability of the rod.Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 8:23 pmI want to purchase the 6'10 medium light. Where might be the best places to source one?

Perfect. He's hooked me up a few times. Thanks for the tip.CReel83 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 02, 2021 1:41 pmFor me it’s jpangler. Re: Olympic Vigore
anyone has previous version ML610 and can share how it performs? I'm debating the new ML610 vs Steez AGS 7MLFS and P5 Landsat. from what I heard Steez and Landsat both are very good for drop shot and general finesse applications, and I also like the blank of new Vigore very much...Hogsticker2 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 31, 2020 8:23 pmI want to purchase the 6'10 medium light. I own the 2016 610ML spinning. What do you want to know about this rod?StymoDe wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 3:12 pmanyone has previous version ML610 and can share how it performs? I don't use it often and unfortunately I don't have the opportunity to fish black bass as often as you do.
I have used it for fishing with Flick Shake 4'8", Senko 4" and 5 ". More comfortable with Jackall and slim Senko profile baits.
It performs well on jerk minnow and microjig with finesse hooks like Mono Spin and Guard Spin Jig Keitech.
The tip is quite flexible and the nerve begins on the lower 2/3 of the rod. IMO it can be good for the dropshot too because the tip will not have too much resistance to the suction.
Hope it can help you.
Re: Olympic Vigore
CReel83, thanks for the comments.
I'm now looking at adding a jig rod from the line. anyone owns the 76MH can share how it works 3/8-1/2oz jig plus trailer? and if it is capable of pulling fish out of some not-too-thick vegetations? I'm also thinking 71H but I usually like slightly longer rods with softer tip, plus I will be using it in 15-30 FOW about half the time for small mouth.

Re: Olympic Vigore
These rods look really interesting I would love to see some pics and videos once people get them in hand. It seems like it would be a great departure from Daiwa, Shimano, and Megabass in the high-end space. Do they use torzite guides?
Re: Olympic Vigore
The 2020 models are made with Ti + Tz guides except the 77XH. The 2016 models with Ti guides.

it is surprising (to me at least) in the blog he compares VIGORE 76MH with Shimano Gloriuos 176H and claims 76MH is too much power for a typical all around MH. that somehow explains 76MH has higher lure ratings than 71H.
Now I am torn between the 2, lol. would prefer a MH can handle 1/2oz jig well and a bit more parabolic but don't need something too powerful and stiff.

Re: Olympic Vigore
yes I saw the line too, hope he has a bit more to share now
think I am going with 71H first as this is the designated jig rod from the lineup anyway. may acquire 76MH later as I consider VIGORE the best budget high end JDM bass rods
Re: Olympic Vigore
Completely agree with you
I have the 71H and I am very satisfied with it even if it hasn't seen too much water yet. From a 3/8oz jig it's perfect.
I can say the following about the 3 2020 models that I own:
The 2 castings (71H and 77XH) are under rated and very powerful while the 742M is perfectly in the zone defined by the manufacturer.
The 77XH easily launches a 6oz swimbait for example.
I launched a Snipe request for various rods and if they were unsuccessful I would definitely order the 75M and 76MH at the end of January, if not later.

Re: Olympic Vigore
Managed to snag one of the first batch of 610MLs, got it today.
First impression - this is not a DS rod. Compared to my Expride 610ML, it seems to be about a power heavier through the tip and mid section. Probably perfect for 4" flukes, finesse swimbaits and jigs...maybe a finesse hard jerkbait rod too. FWIW the 6'7ML Adrena lies somewhere between the Expride and Vigore in power.
Incredibly light and balanced as you would expect - fit/finish is perfect 10/10.
