New Poison Glorious
Re: New Poison Glorious
Nice KP! It's interesting even some of the sub 7' rods are two piece. They also dropped names for these models as far as I can tell. Can anyone compare a '21 PG vs the previous generation of the same model? I was tempted to pick up the 1610m that popped up on here a little while back, I love my previous gen 1610m.
Re: New Poison Glorious
Just had a glorious experience with mine.
When a rod feels this good it’s got to be special

Re: New Poison Glorious
Appears to be the same handle as my Ultima 172H and 1611ML+. I absolutely love them so far.
Re: New Poison Glorious
It will be a little while before I can get some good time with it OTW and make sone comparisons. There wasn't a '16 7'H, but I have the '16 6-10h, 7'h+, and 7-6h. I like the new handle, but not better than the handsome cork/monoque of the '16 (and still on some models). Only a couple of models have the full carbon handle btw.Mike son wrote: ↑Sat Dec 18, 2021 7:15 amNice KP! It's interesting even some of the sub 7' rods are two piece. Re: New Poison Glorious
Received my 6'10 medium from Kazu at Japan Angler. This stick is incredibly light and crisp. In terms of sensitivity, it's definitely going to give everything in my arsenal a run for top dog. I really like that it doesn't have any red trim or components. Looks clean and stealth. Can't wait to fish it.
Re: New Poison Glorious
I'll 1000% underwrite this. The 6'10" M is the only rod I've manage to really make a purple Steez CT work on. IMO purple pairs badly with pretty much all accents, and the black/silver PG look is a blessing. I can even afford a purple Fuji hook keeper on this rodHogsticker2 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 9:55 amI really like that it doesn't have any red trim or components. Looks clean and stealth. Re: New Poison Glorious
I assume that its a "of course not". I doubt that even the Ultima is made in Japan at this point.
Re: New Poison Glorious
Several new models for '22, including a 6-10" UL/M, 6-11" ML/H, 6-5" MH+, and more.

Re: New Poison Glorious
torn between the 2610UL/M and 2610L/MH...I like M backbone but want a slightly stronger tip. will be using it mostly for open water smallmouth fishing in 10-20 feet
Line spec on PG 2610UL/M is only 2.5 to 5lb, line spec on PA 2610UL/M is 1.5 to 8lb, line spec on PU 264UL/M is also 1.5 to 8lb, this leads me to suspect PG UL/M model is not as strong as the other two
anyone can shed a light?

Re: New Poison Glorious
They definiely have some head scratching ratings. The bait weight rating illustrates the extra power, but the line ratings don't correspond. The L/MH is rated for a max of 6lb line, but can handle a 3/4oz bait. Strange.
Re: New Poison Glorious
the 2610UL/M was a sell out model in Japan. it has an UL tip and your reliable M backbone, when you need to guide the fish out of structures, weeds.StymoDe wrote: ↑Tue Mar 22, 2022 6:35 pmtorn between the 2610UL/M and 2610L/MH...I like M backbone but want a slightly stronger tip. will be using it mostly for open water smallmouth fishing in 10-20 feet

2610L/MH is an update/refresh of this hugely popular model, and its sold out pretty much everywhere. I've my order in about 6-9 months back, and I'm still waiting.
WRT to line spec, the rod has smaller guides. In Japan, and my side of the world, we are using mostly PE lines and/or super braids. thus, 4lb Nylon/Flouro dia is ~ PE1 dia which is about 20lb breaking strength. strong enough for bass fishing.
was in the states some years back, I find small mouths tougher to fish as compared to large mouths, mostly because they are in deeper waters, and can be more finicky about the lures presented to them sometimes. I believe this 2610L/MH rod will be a perfect nemesis for them.
will share more when my rod arrives. In fact, I have the new stella 22 waiting to be paired with this rod....
