New 2021 Daiwa 月下美人 “Alphas” Air TW PE Special
Re: New 2021 Daiwa 月下美人 “Alphas” Air TW PE Special
In my opinion, both can damage lightweight spool, strong braid and jerking stuck bait, and tightly spooled big amount of wet Mono in cold weather (spool shrinks) and then brought to warm house...
But I think, it's un-common to damage spool by fishing line...

This seller of one cheap and light spool states:
"Note: PE line is recommended for thin-walled spool. The tension of nylon line & fluorocarbon line easily lead to cause the deformation of spool. So don't use nylon line & fluorocarbon line."
That doesn't mean much but it's just one recommendation for lightest and weakest spools.

This will likely be my next reel.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

I already bought aftermarket (28 mm) tuning spool. Just waiting for info will it fit also to this reel.

Digitaka has finally listed the price for them now at $345 at the current exchange rate with free shipping. Looking forward to these becoming available soon.

I thought that this should be 2021_09 debut? It still can be. They still have something 50 hours left.

Looks like the September 21 release meant Sept. 30, but I did get my shipping notification from Plat, and Digitaka has RH in stock on their site too. Excited to see how this one performs overall vs the 2020 Alphas Air TW.

Thanks for the info... ordered.
The description indicates it is an all aluminum reel...In this series, aluminum alloy is used for the frame, gear side side plate, and dial side set plate. It is a full metal housing specification that achieves robustness and unrivaled strength. plus drag clicker that check all the boxes.
Looking to make it my dedicated jerkbait reel. I use braid for jerkbaiting, currently use the Morethan
FYI Digitaka has a few lefties back in stock

Re: New 2021 Daiwa 月下美人 “Alphas” Air TW PE Special
I have sent a question to Digitaka: "Will Alphas Air spool fit to it? And is there difference in movement of line guide between these reels?" I will not buy before I will have at least info of are spools interchangeable. But I understand that Digitaka will not have issue to sell all the reels they currently has...

Palming side plate made of aluminum? I don't believe that.
