Angler's utoPIA

Post by Polkfish1 » Fri Nov 19, 2021 3:35 pm

For years I've been going to the beach using bass fishing tackle and for years I've been dreaming of an Apia Natural Seven. I could either never pull the trigger when one came up or find one when I was ready. In 2020, Apia released what they called the Last Edition of the Foojin AD series. And, as in previous years, I did not get my act together and could not find an available natural seven in time. Supposedly, only 77 were made, so I figured my chance for one had slipped away again. A year later, I found one. My dream beach set up has materialized.

Apia Foojin AD Natural Seven, The Last Edition. 7ft 7, 12-42 g, Line max #2. Snook, trout, bluefish beware in 2021.

A-PIA is in my opinion one of the most under-rated rod from Japan, especially for light saltwater application. Try their Grandage series. Grandage rods are slightly heavier than the Foojin series but a lot more powerful. I would not call them under-price but certainly A-PIA rods are good value compared to other JDM light saltwater rods like Ripple Fisher, Yamaga Blanks, Tenryu and Evergreen.
