Help (megabass nerds) I'm stupid

Post by LowRange » Tue Nov 23, 2021 5:49 pm

I bought a rod and don't know what it is. This is my 3rd old Destroyer. I can identify my other 2 but this one is odd. It is an F7 711X with the braided graphite but doesn't have the full cork handle nor the US Tour markings on it. From JDM reels vault into Megabsss Destroyers I read that for the F7 711X "later models are US Tour". Does this predate the rod cal reviewed or is it newer?

Going to be my finesse flipping stick with some sort of lefty flipping frame Daiwa on it. Got my TD-S 105HL JDM beater on it.

That handle design leads me to believe it's newer.

This is the 2007 model so newer than the one in TT review.
Great flipping stick, I had the F7-77X Randy Blaukat model.

So that would make it a phase II then?

Oh yeah; for sure. The tapers are so functional and make them a pleasure to fish; they’re reliable, and if it wasn’t for shipping costs, used ones in good to great condition can be had for prices better that lower quality currently mass produced rods. Sometimes though you can find them so well priced that even the shipping expenses make it worthwhile. Megabass has always been so hyperactive with changing/updating design that there’s seemingly endless sampling possibility out there with the older models.
