Does the Black Raven Ext fish like a MH? Evergreen ratings are so all over the map. Wondering if this actually has the muscle for heavy cover or not?

I’ve bought a couple of rods from Shimreels in the last couple of months with no issues. Arrived within a week, but the holiday shipping rush could impact that.

I ordered both my Inspirare RSR and HD from Shimreels, they do a nice job packaging rods to prevent breakage. They’re definitely not the lowest price in town but they often have product in stock that others don’t.

To answer your question simply... in my opinion NO. It's not that kind of rod. I use it around cover because that's just how fishing at the Delta is. It's got a very resposive tip with quite a bit of flex to it. I tend to bring fish in a little more gently with it than I do with my 6'9" shallow cover finesse RD which is M+. I've been throwing 5" senkos neko rigged, or wacky with it and it's great for that type of thing, but I don't care for it as a jig rod. I feel like it's more of a M power rod than MH and techniques where you have to set the hook hard aren't really what id use it for. it's an excellent rod, top notch all around, but I prefer more power in cover and with jigs in general.
