Shimano Cardiff Native Special B64L

Post by Jeeves09 » Tue Jun 14, 2022 7:43 am

Shimano Cardiff Native Special
B64L. A trout rod from Shimano Japan.
Lure rating : 3-14g
Line : 3-8 lb
Similar blank technology as the Poison Glorious rods.
Can anyone explain how this trout rod is different to a bass rod ?
Thanks in advance.

Could be the taper... trout rods tend to be more moderate in nature

In addition to what Cal said, Native rods are slightly faster taper than Area trout rods. Still slower than bass rods.

Anyone has hands on experience?
Also, it is a 2 piece rod, how much effect it has on overall rod integrity, action and strength?

From my experience, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a 2 or a 3 piece JDM rod. I have a Poison Glorious that is the type that the blank slides into the handle and I have had the type of trout rods that are 2 or 3 piece (Shimano and Daiwa) that connect in the middle and they are plenty strong and proven designs.
