Think it's on schedule for a revamp this year,2023.

that kind of already exists in the Excense, maybe not as lightas the vanquish but at 180 grams the c3000m is only 10 grams heavier that the c3000 vanquish. i habe a c3000m excense and its a hell of a reel, ill be getting another unless there is a new vanqusih and its blows me away.

Airity has a new one coming too, and weight a bit less than current models and exactly same as Vanquish, at least for model 2500 and under if I remember right

Honestly i'll be real surprised if Daiwa can and will catch up to the vanquish. The low resistance and startup inertia Shimano offers, and especially in the vanquish. Plus that it's now a selling point for Shimano makes me doubt it.
But theres still a few months until i can start fishing proper again so i'm in no real rush to get it -right now-.

I have three Shimano 18 Vanquish 1000SHG FW-Tune spinning reels and to me this is the standard by which I judge all other UL JDM spinning reels. I'll have to check out the new 2023 Vanquish C2000HGS since that's closer in approximate size to the older FW-Tune model.

Here's a picture of my mint condition spare FW-Tune spinning reel for reference! It's been sitting in my Liberty Centurion Wall Safe for the past five+ years.
