Post by AlexMillan » Thu Jan 19, 2023 3:24 am

Hi! Opening this thread to talk about rumours or info about new JDM reels that could be presented in the next weeks or fishing shows.
Heard about new Antares MD and even Conquest MD i.e.
Anything else?
Thanks!

Tacklewarehouse had a place holder page for the Conquest MD. I clicked it, no picture, just a name and essentially blank page. I assume it is a page for a reel to come, surprising to know the info some people have hidden. I really hope for a new Conquest BFS, based off the 2021 version, and a new Aldebaran MGL(30, 50, 70, any of those). I hear that the Vanquish is due an update, or maybe it is a different Shimano spinner?

As far as Daiwa goes, I wouldn't expect much for casting reels. They seem to have every corner covered and all those versions came very lately. Maybe a new Certate?

Wonder when we should get actual news of products to come?

Stradic spinning

Daiwa 2023 NEW

Thanks Cranky! I might give the new Vanquish a look, the 2019 models weren't better in my experience than my older 2016 models and the one off 2017 FW-Tune models for my finesse soft plastic presentations.

If its not a Pixy or a Z2020 (z1016 omg) reboot, i simply don't care.

Really hope we see a new Conquest BFS. I'd be happy to even see a Conquest 50 MGL or something along that line. It feels like yesterday a new Stradic came out, feels like my FL isn't that old.

I certainly could be wrong, but it feels as though those two platforms are dead.

If either is rebooted, they will come back with a T-wing too, so... 😒

Timeline is right for the refresh of this platform. We shall see.

The Conquest 100 is the new 50 (and has been for almost a decade now). I doubt you’ll ever see a smaller frame than that again in the Conquest lineup but they will play with tuning/spool options for the BFS type stuff.

It’s all gonna be public tomorrow for the show, so just hang tight for roughly another +/- 12 hours (1/20 10:00 local time).

I just meant a 50 size spool. The 100HG I have is already tiny for palming purposes. I had no idea the releases would appear this early. I assumed it would be late February before news showed up. Guess I will stay up late tonight then.

Airity is gone from their website for some time now and I'm guessing it is not coming back
A new Tatula is popping up just don't have any details yet
Certate seems not getting a refresh...I could be wrong
99.9% a new Vanquish is coming

on the casting front Shimano should have more new toys coming tomorrow (actually tonight for us...). the only thing I want to see personally is a new all around STEEZ SV TW, which takes forever...

to me bass reels have come to a point that changes are only marginal, sometimes no better that the ones they replace

New SS Air

https://www.daiwa.com/jp/fishing/item/r ... index.html

Looks like a new Magforce called SS Magforce. Pictures aren't loading up yet.

SS MAGFORCE (Simple & Swift MAGFORCE)
SS AIR TW has developed a new SS MAGFORCE with the aim of improving cast feel. Along with the development of the low-inertia spool unit, we have adopted a new structure that includes a review of the side plate unit, making it more compact, and optimizing the magnetic brake.
*Swift means quick and quick.

SS MAGFORCE has three features.
1.Low inertia AIR spool for exclusive use of SS MAGFORCE
 *Not compatible.
2. Low trajectory yet achieves "elongation" in the latter half of casting
3. Thinner side plate on the palming side allows for a compact grip

Based on Steez CT/Air frame. Looks like it mentioned a lighter spool and lists clicking drag as a feature as well.

But a 28mm spool:

Made of G1 Duralumin Φ28mm AIR spool
Master the finesse performance.
SS MAGFORCE exclusive AIR spool.
Achieved the weight reduction of the spool unit from the conventional AIR spool.
Equipped with ultra-lightweight microball bearings to cope with ultra-light lures.

All line capacity are required to be used at MAX45m.
