Coming in March. https://www.daiwa.com/jp/fishing/item/r ... index.html. Thoughts?
Link isn't showing it for now. I missed this one! I was so excited about the new Conquest BFS, I missed all the Daiwa releases. I have seen the new spinning reels and IMZ from Daiwa, but not the SS AIR TW. Really want them to show this one, supposedly has some new Magforce design or something? Asymmetrical spool someone else mentioned?

It looks like Daiwa removed it from their site, strange. Maybe they had to update it? Anyway, it uses a "new" braking system they referred to as Magforce SS. How it works or what it may look like, I have no clue. I wonder if it's a different take on SV boost? The reel looked interesting, almost like a salt capable Steez Air. From what I distinctly remember, 28mm spool, weight of 145g, 80mm handle, and a capacity of 45m of #0.8 PE. Hopefully they fix the link soon!

I got a message about this reel and when I went to look it up...nothing about it. Glad Daiwa is releasing a new BFS reel this year. They been pretty saturated the last couple years so, a new BFS reel this year is kinda crazy.

Also I would guess that this Magforce SS is a finesse style sv-boost spool.

Super excited about this one. It looks like a Steez frame with a newly built sideplate and brake dial position. At first glance, I don't see any other Daiwa's using that brake dial position on their sideplates, but maybe I'm missing a reel or two. I know the recent Alphas and Steez Air has the brake dial at the bottom, and the full size Steez has their dial up a little closer to the level wind.

Specs from the cached page looks like the spool will hold the same as the Steez Air. Looks to be just a bit heavier than the Steez Air, but lighter than all the AATW reels. Price is just above the Silver Creek, and a decent bit cheaper than the listed price of the Steez Air as well.

Hopefully has some sort of inductor like the Gekkabijin. Also, glad to see the 8.5 gears made another iteration. The 8.6 and 9.1 gears of the Alphas AIR TW and Steez AIR roughed up pretty dang quick

I wish they made a HG version that pulled around 26"-28". Probably a 7.5-7.9 ratio. Either way hoping the gears are tough. It looks like they used the aluminum micro gears from the Aldebaran in the new Conquest BFS, so I'm not sure on either now.

If this new SS Air is a frame trend, I would love to see a CT version with the 30mm G1 SV spool.

Nice looking reel! It seems to me that they have made room for Boost brake by moving spool frame towards machinery side.

That would be pretty close to the Steez CT SV TW with the 30mm spool.

Indeed. To me this looks like an answer to the Alphas Air/Gekkabijin/silver creek reels with the boost technology.

Neat reel but that mag dial can't be adjusted while palming. You will have to flip the reel over to make adjustments. It also looks like something I would see on an Aliexpress reel. I'm guessing they went with this arrangement to allow for more room to accommodate the SV Boost Air spool. Hurry up and make an SS SV70 Boost already!

Isn't it insane how cool new reels can be from Daiwa when they're not based on the dull and boring as hell Tatulas? Maybe Daiwa saw a massive success with higher end reels like the Zillion, so now they're confident on focusing more than just budget trash that is being regurgitated for almost a decade. Really hoping that the Tatula Illness is going away. Its time, Daiwa
