2023 SLP Zillion
2023 SLP Zillion
Available in May, sans spool and handle, blacked out, 35k yen. Would look nice with a MB Honeycomb and small form Studio Composite Handle

Re: 2023 SLP Zillion
$300 for an incomplete black zillion? Why would anyone buy this over the zillion HD or silver wolf
Re: 2023 SLP Zillion
Boring. How many more billions of reels will be made in black, in black with anodized red accents or in silver? I am so tired of this.

I like it. It's on my wish list. Have a regular 21 zillion G, a HD and silverwolf. The SS Air will also be on that wishlist

Re: 2023 SLP Zillion
Personally I really like it. At an MSRP of 32,000 JPY the street price will probably be somewhere around 27,500 JPY. I’m game to pick up a spool and handle to add to it. It would be a tad cooler if the TWS was black as well.
Re: 2023 SLP Zillion
Yeah I like the black TWS too. I think I have seen it on the new Steez Limited with the 1000 Shallow spool. I assume if the gold color and silver color stay, then black can too? I see a ton of reels like this on the big auction site. Not SLP versions, but Zillions or other higher end Daiwas with no spool and no handle. Most of the time they want a crazy price. At least the SLP version offers something different.Kimbro1014 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 2:54 amPersonally I really like it. Re: 2023 SLP Zillion
I think this is pretty accurate. Many enthusiasts have handles and spools to spare, which makes it convenient.Kimbro1014 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 2:54 amPersonally I really like it. Re: 2023 SLP Zillion
I like it too and thought the same thing - the TWS from the Steez LTD would have been my choice. Interesting idea for sure here!Kimbro1014 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 2:54 amPersonally I really like it. Cool idea as I swap handles and spools on almost all my reels. Hopefully the price reflects the lack of parts and ill be ordering one.

Re: 2023 SLP Zillion
I ended up ordering a Slp Zillion in 7:1 on May 6. There were no discounts being here in Japan. I paid full price 32,000 JPY for the body, 14,000 JPY for a boost spool and 11,000 JPY for a SLP 95mm carbon handle. I’m sure it won’t be any better then the regular Zillion but that’s ok, it’ll be beautiful on my X-Bites for now. It should be here 29 or 30 May the shop said. I’m pretty excited to get my hands on it.

Does this reel come with the brass or aluminum main gear?

Re: 2023 SLP Zillion
I suspect it will be an aluminum gear, same as the other JDM reels.Real Pudd legend wrote: ↑Fri Jun 23, 2023 8:50 amDoes this reel come with the brass or aluminum main gear?
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.
Re: 2023 SLP Zillion
I have seen so many random vids on youtube with people having buzzy gears while using the USDM zillion that i am beginning to think aluminum that's used on the newer daiwa reels is superior.

Re: 2023 SLP Zillion
Received the slp it’s super smooth and a good looking reel.
SSS… every USDM Zillion G I had all got buzzy it was annoying. The JDM ones are buttery no matter what abuse I put them through.

Re: 2023 SLP Zillion
That is crazy. I wonder how this is even possible. Since the beginning of time, brass was always considered smoother and stronger.Real Pudd legend wrote: ↑Sun Jun 25, 2023 4:48 pmReceived the slp it’s super smooth and a good looking reel.
