22 Stella FK… swap spools?

I bought a 22 Stella FK a couple months ago. The 2500HG version. Now I think I should have bought the 2500SHG version since I primarily cast 1/4 - 1/2oz lures. I’ve taken it out once (everything is frozen in CO) and was a little disappointed in the casting distance paired with a Steez 7’6” ML+

Will the shallower spool increase my casting distance on light braid (p.e. 0.8 - 1.0) with a 1/4oz lure?

Can I just buy the 2500SHG spool and swap it out?

You can but as long as you're filling the line to the lip identically on both spools, I don't think it will make any difference to casting distance on a spinning reel.
