2023 Megabass F4st-69RSDti Craftsman Pride Edition

Post by bronzefly » Thu Mar 02, 2023 8:30 pm

I have so much history with this rod, both on the water and off! After Aaron Martens fell in love with its predecessors, Megabass agreed to a production run back in 2015 of the beloved Hedgehog 6'9". Now in 2023, the newest version is set to return complete with the old school Stealth Fit Housing reel seat and modern updates to this legendary Megabass rod. Obviously it is a very limited production run this time around, but I'm excited to get mine :D

I liked the Aaron Marten's F3-610XS but it wasn't too practical in my previous NJ location. I wonder why they changed to the Stinger tipped for the new version?

F4st-69RSDti has always had a stinger tip and became Aaron's drop shot rod of choice when he was with MB.

The Aaron Martens Limited was the F3-610DGS - different stick

That's what I thought but couldn't find all of my documents. Maybe I should start using a tagging method.

Thanks, Cal

Are they only available to order from Japan? Or is there going to be a run of them available for the US market? I think I see one of these in my future

I know the hookup tackle recently had a couple other craftsman pride models in stock. Gives me hope that them or the tackle trap will get this one in!

The white python II coming out after this one looks pretty cool too. They kind of modernized the locknut and rear portion of the handle for a mix of new and old. Fun idea for sure.

I have an eye on that one too. Had they only made it a slant bridge, oh my goodness!

Gary, are you going to find that modified ACS reel seat acceptable?

Absolutely not a problem here Van. I have a few of the old Megabass rods that utilize this type of reel seat and in my hands it feels nothing like that dreaded ACS reel seat. Honestly, much like the Craftsman Pride Hedgehog, it'll probably be a lot more a part of the collection than a daily driver

Ah that's great to hear bro...and yes, I thought as much about this new series being sought after as a collectible.

Do they have a list of all the releases they are doing or are they just slowly being released one at a time and nobody knows what’s coming next?

There isn't an official list to my knowledge. I'll post up info on their release as it becomes available. I already know several folks wanting to get the new White Python when it is released. Now that I have the Hedgehog in my hands, I can see that they are putting a lot of effort into these Craftsman Pride rods.
