Daiwa Pixy Replacment

Post by Birdi23nls » Mon Apr 17, 2023 8:36 am

What would be the best replacement for a Daiwa Pixy px68. Is there a reel on the market currently that performs like the px68?

Also where can I order parts? I have an abrasion in the line guide (if I'm calling that the right name) that I need to replace.

Are you fishing or aimlessly casting around?

Better in what way? If you want to cast better, lures that are under something like 1/8oz, almost everything made for BFS will be better because they have lighter spools. If you're using your pixy for things like 3/8-1/2oz jerkbaits, you're not really gonna find anything better, but just different. I still use mine for finesse presentations and lots of jerkbaitin'. No plans of ever retiring this thing unless Daiwa reboots it like the Z, and that new pixy isn't sold for $1000 lol.

You can get everything for your reel on PLAT: https://www.plat.co.jp/shop/catalog/opt ... siries/37/

If you want to stay with pixy platform but not as light,
Alphas air for BFS like Alphas CT SV everything else’s.
To replace line guide any Alphas line guide or TDZ should work. You might still be able to order direct from Daiwa for SV105 line guide or ask around in buy-sell section. Other than that plat is a very good source.
I think I might have red alphas sv 105 laying around.
