Been out twice bank beating. These are the biggest little guys of those two trips. Atleast the rods and reels were great catches.

King Salmon are awesome. I have used my large swimbait bass tackle to catch them on Sacramento Delta a few times. It's definitely not the right rods and reels, but I managed a few large ones after losing several because my rod was too stiff.

I caught a 10 lb salmon in middle river, near the skier island, on a wiggle wart. It was on a med. light cranking stick, and I thought I had a world record bass on! That soft rod definitely helped keep the trebles from tearing out. As it was, the rear hook hanger was twisted 90 degrees. That lure has now been retired. ;)

Catching trout and salmon is sweet on cranks. They do hit them really hard. I have had a few of them break my balsa cranks in half.

Great pics!

I just got back into salmon fishing last year on Lake Michigan. Yesterday, was our first time out for this season. It was a fun time.

What are some of your favorite set ups (rod/reel combos)? I understand you probably have too much tackle to list. We have downrigger and dipsy diver combos all set, and also have four yellow birds for flat lines. I'm planning on adding one or two colors on the planer boards. I just haven't purchased anything to handle copper or leadcore lines.

I only run Tekota reels....aside from a single Saltist used for a 300' copper.

I have a wide variety of rods....from longer rigger rods, dipsy rods, etc.

but I've been purchasing great lakes tackle for 18 years, so a couple reels a year for a long number of years built the collection. Also was good buying everything before the recent price increases in the last few years.

Salmon fishing is a blast!

A couple more big reds on the 110SR and a 7.5lb trout on Topwater. Those redfish really make it interesting around docks! All caught on custom 842 Conquests/Stile SS.

Awful picture, still haven’t quite figured out how to upload great ones on here, but this was a fun way to start a quick morning trip. Third cast of the day. Fish slurped that Lates so softly I honestly thought it was just an aggressive ‘gill. I’ve been fishing out of my Bonafide RS117 a lot the last few months, so fighting a big fish from a sit in kayak was a whole different experience. Details for the tackle crowd;
Fish was 19.5”
Daiwa Alphas 103L (Ito 103Ai spool, T3 MX handle, Alphas R edition drag star, SLP Works knobs)
6’6” M St Croix Premier
8 Lb Izorline mono

I've been coming back to the same beach in FL for about 13 years and always end up catching some small seatrout, maybe a mackerel or two. What has gone down this year is difficult to describe. Pure magic.
