Great catch, May I ask what rod was that?

It is the MB Aaron Marten's Destroyer 777...also called the Record Breaker. I love it for pitching and flipping with FC and it makes a wonderful chatterbait stick too.

Had one of those rare epic fall days that I live for, the first day of a long overdue vacation. It was overcast all day but warm. This is probably my favorite fishery, a narrow creek that meanders through several towns. It’s actually a tributary of the Delaware River and shad are the main forage. It’s been undergoing a massive much needed dredging project for the past couple of years which really disrupted things for quite a while, I wasn’t sure how long it would take, if ever, for things to get back to normal. It was pretty poor fishing back in the spring and summer, but today it was absolutely on fire. Find the shad and the bass aren’t far away … I found the shad early and it was lights out. Landed over 25 bass, had another half dozen come unbuttoned. No true hogs today, 16”/3 lb about the biggest (got a bunch of those) but pretty much if it was moving it got blasted. I love a hot reaction bite, lipless baits are my weakness and today didn’t disappoint. Most of them came on a 3/4 oz XCalibur lipless, which actually is unique in that it has BB rattles and a heavy knocker weight which makes it kind of a hybrid one knocker/rattle bait. When they cooled off on the rattler, I went back with a silent squarebill and picked off the remainder of the school. I’m wore out and sore but it was worth it.

Just got back from a river kayak fishing trip. Camped and fished with a great group of people. Sorry, no river pics, since it's not my home flow. Lots of good size smallmouth, but unfortunately I lost a couple monsters. The river levels were up, and we were flying down the river. You basically only got one shot at a good piece of cover. It just makes things even more challenging in a yak.
