Any tips on smoothing them out or is that normal for these reels to buzz in your hand when palming and spinning the handle?
Being such new old stock I would start at a grease refresh... Brass gears so shouldn't be an issue, but the greases may have dried out and your experiencing a byproduct of that ageing...

I agree. The 50E reels that have come across my bench have all been very smooth, with the exception of one well-used specimen that was in need of a fresh gear set.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

This and my old 200E7 pull double duty with inshore fishing.

The Scorpion MGL is still my favorite in my line up at the moment.

Just to break up the monotonous upload of super high end gear.

I went for my first flick yesterday in a VERY long time, at Mudgeeraba creek here in Queensland (freshwater) and had an absolute ball... Flushed the stock bearings and applied the TSI 321 and god almighty she made Sigletts disappear across the river with utter ease.

Here’s my Mets with the black accent handle knob seals instead of the chrome. Much more subtle and I think I like the black better.
