Lets see all them Daiwa's
Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
Yeah optical illusion. The Steez CT on the end of the top row looks like a 300 sized reel compared to the Tatula in front of it.

I took a few photos comparing the Alphas to the Steezs and Mets. The size difference is minimal compared to the Steez SV TW.

No way. Is the new Zillion really that much shorter than the Steez CT? The Steez CT looks like a inch or more longer.HobeyBaker wrote: ↑Sat Nov 06, 2021 8:30 pmI took a few photos comparing the Alphas to the Steezs and Mets. The size difference is minimal compared to the Steez SV TW.

Zillion is a little shorter. Steez has a lower profile and is narrower.LowRange wrote: ↑Sat Nov 06, 2021 9:14 pmNo way. Is the new Zillion really that much shorter than the Steez CT? Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
This just makes me love the Alphas even more. Look that little guy. It's small as the latest and greatest Daiwa offerings. It's about as butter smooth as they come. It palms great back when that wasn't even a talking point before Twings made all the reels strange shaped. To think it was basically the same reel from 2003 to 2019 and is still competitive with the latest offerings.HobeyBaker wrote: ↑Sat Nov 06, 2021 8:30 pmI took a few photos comparing the Alphas to the Steezs and Mets. Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
Two reels I have changed up the parts on. A T3 MX I want to go as far down the carbon plastic or just plastic hole as possible. Going to get a longer carbon handle, the flat clear black Zaion knobs for it and an ebay graphite spool. Still gotta find a black plastic spool tension knob.
Also a Tatula SV I'm raiding the purple parts off of for an upcoming build. Going for the silver and brushed aluminum accents here. I probably should hit up the shiny spool tension knob and handle nut with some 600 grit to give them a satin finish. I always liked the paint on these.

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
I got the reel from a friend, i never used it with stock 10 ratio gear but yea it did sound and feel a lil buzzy while playing with it. I had an extra set of 7.3 set laying around, just needed to find a pinion bearing sleeve since zillion 10 doesn't come with one. 10 is just too fast for me, even 8.1 are only good for worm fishing. 7.1 and 7.3 are perfect.

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
My newest Daiwa. It was bought for $48 plus shipping just to drop an SV spool into and be the cheapest thing possible to skip with. It's on a $16 Obei rod that is awesome at making pin point skips seated in a kayak. It has a nice light and fast tip with a moderate loading of the blank that keeps fish pinned. I would like to find a high end version of this rod.
The TD-S 105H now a TD-S 103H SV looks a little odd on such a small stick. Reminds me of something.

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
The other TD-S is in. This on is the lefty flipping frame version. Neat concept. It's got a nasty tick in the retrieve. Going to have to sort that out. Added a red spoon tension knob off a Tatula Type R and a red lock plate. Spool is an R+.
Also dropped in an Amo spool and stuck it on an old Destroyer to get a feel for pitching while palming the reel. I can see this working out. Looks kinda good on that little destroyer.
