Heck of a deal man.
I just saw a set of those knobs two days ago.
Nice! They’re getting harder to find.
I only have two sets and they ride these two cousins.

Nice! Curious how the 1516 spool runs in HLC 1516? I didn't have a good luck with running a 100 spool from US zillion tw 100 in my HLC 1516 while i still had it. It casted fine but there seemed to some play with pinion gear, it would make whining noise when reeling in and started leaving blurs on pinion gear. I suspected HLC pinion was a bit longer to accommodate the shorter shaft of HLC spool but never confirmed it. May be the jdm 1516 and HLC 1516 have the same shaft length?

Man... I had both apart the other day and didn’t even pay attention to the gears other than cleaning and lubing them. I haven’t thrown them around yet, but if I notice something odd I’ll get back to you. I’m curious now also.

Aaahh, it's a shame that I can't see the other photos because of some error but the rest are looking nice, shiny and great!! Please keep them coming!

Nearing completion of my first Alphas tune and have a new appreciation gig HOW deep the “modding rabbit-hole” can go on certain models....Alphas takes the cake for me so far!!!...

Original “Alphas 103” was given the “‘saurus“ treatment....and for pretty obvious reasons has now been crowned the “Alphas LSD”.

It’s out there and maybe a bit OTT!!!.....but, it’s like eating Pringles....”one you pop you can’t stop!” Lol

I really dig that Alphas. Blue is my jam - looks similar to my Steez. Who painted it?
Thanks! I believe it's a Calfish paint job, it was also tuned and polished originally at TT before I bought it from it's previous owner. It's a really unique color as the paint can appear purlple, to blue ,to reddish depending on the angle you're looking at it from. I've since replaced the red brake knob and lock washer shown in the last 2 photos. Oh yeah, and the nose piece too.

Here are a couple pics to show the different colors it can appear as.
Mate this is one sexy looking reel!!!!.....although I am biased......here’s mine lol
...should set them up for a play date! 👌😜

This just reinforces my Alphas bias. Clearly they are the best reels on the face of the planet. It's is always some cherished Alphas that gets the custom treatment like that.
