Lets see all them Daiwa's
Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
I have been busy with work so i havent had the chance to fish it yet. I was also looking into that blackjack and wanting to compare with the steez 6'9 universal light rod.
i was planning to get their new air tw pe special and pair with the hermit. So the alpha air tw is just temporary so i can fish the rod lol

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
Right on. I took it out on a couple of rental boat trips in may and caught some fish with it dragging t rigged softbaits. Just from reading the specs, I'm going to assume that it will be more comparable to the target sniper than the universal light. To me it fishes more towards MH than M. it's fairly stiff/fast and starts to bend deeper with heavier load applied.Jbc88 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 3:42 pmI have been busy with work so i havent had the chance to fish it yet. Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
I had the 803C some years ago and don't remember a whole lot but yea probably similar in power, black jack has deeper bend under a load. I had a chance to use it again and was able to catch a few with it on a rental boat trip this past week. It's a fun all around softbait rod if you don't mind shorter rods. New air beam seat looks really cool, they are a bit more tapered on the trigger side even compared to the newer air sensor seat. so depending on how you palm/hold your reel, imo older wider reels won't feel as comfortable as some of the newer offerings.

Picked this up recently, minus a handle. It has about every red blingy piece possible. I like
the end result!

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's
I just picked up a pretty nice budget JDM BFS rod. Daiwa Bass X 682LB. Not much info on here about it but for the price I couldn't pass it up. I paired it with an Alphas SV with DIY spool.

I've been back and forth about this series of rods forever, but never found any feedback on them. Let us know what you think.

My other BFS rod is the Tsurinoya Proflex II so I can only compare it to that. The build quality of the rod is definitely good and better than that of the Proflex II. The rod is light (Daiwa lists it at 3.8oz) and balances really good with the Alphas (on the locknut).hoohoorjoo wrote: ↑Mon Sep 06, 2021 3:56 pmI've been back and forth about this series of rods forever, but never found any feedback on them. I've only taken it out on a few trips so far. Sensitivity is what you expect from a rod retailing $90. I was using braid to leader so it enhanced the feel a bit. I was able to detect the few bites I had without any issue. I bought it mainly as moving bait rod so I did not try out any bottom contact techniques yet.
Taper is moderate fast with a good backbone. It's a perfect complement the Proflex II's XF taper which I plan to use for bottom contact. I casted as low as 2.5g and as heavy as 8g. At 2.5g, it can do it but not ideal. 8g seems to be the upper limit and wouldn't go over that. Sweet spot is about 3.5g-7g. Overall, I wanted a rod to throw moving baits in the 4-7g range and it was able to do that at a great price.
