Picked up a pair of Black Labels...the 7-3ml+ (110g) and 7-4mh (130g). These are in the 'limber' series, but I wouldn't call either of them limber. Ml+ is fast, and the MH is med/mod fast. They feel and look great. Best cork of any rod I've ever owned or seen.

Has anyone fully tuned a Zillion1000? Don't think i have seen a single out, even outside of TT.

Yep, Zillion SV TW 1000L and 1000HXL.
  1. complete disassembly
  2. appropriate parts cleaned in an ultrasonic with either acetone or a diluted Dawn solution
  3. appropriate ‘metal to metal’ parts polished with a slow speed Dremel using jeweler’s rouge
  4. sliding/moving metal parts, frame bearings and worm gear lubricated with ZPI F-0 Pro Grease Soft
  5. gears (main, pinion, etc.) lubricated with a Dupont Krylox GPL 225
  6. one drop of ZPI F-0 Extra Long Cast Oil in each spool bearing
  7. worm drive bearing/collar upgrade (2 bearings)
  8. replaced knob handle bushings with bearings (1 bearing/knob)
Even smoother performance and casting ease/distance.

Pretty good. Have you upgraded it to 12bbs? Waiting for mine to arrive tomorrow, and its the first thing i am doing. If i like it enough, i was even thinking of sending it in to get cerakoted because i am not much of a fan of this plain jane silver.

Forgot to check my "upgrade" inventory spreadsheet. Yes, added bearings as noted in the edited post.

If you are planning to get the reel cerakoted, check out Ryan Sagisi (a TT member) at Sagisi Customs. Great person and the 'real deal' in his craft.

This is my first "classic" Daiwa. I need to spread them all out and take pictures when I get my order from Ichiban Tackle, but I am super proud of this reel. The rod isn't as sexy as many of the others in this thread, but I'm happy with how they go together.

Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.
