Looks outstanding Dom!
I appreciate it. I wasn't sure whether to post it here or on the post purple thread, but I love TD-Zs.

Wow there are a lot of awesome looking reels in this thread. Some real works of art. I've got a couple. Ones kind of a blank canvas at the moment but I'm getting some ideas from this thread.

Image

The other is a little scuffed up but I really like it. Spool didn't match as well as I hoped either but it's close enough. Just a little worried the threads on the end of the drive shaft might be worn down little since the original nut seemed to work it's way over them pretty easy but so far this handle/nut seem to be staying on.

The reels look good! One of these days I'm going to get myself an Ito. What spool are you running in it?

If that handle nut begins to be a problem, and you want to go another route other than replacing the driveshaft, let me know ;)

It's a fx68 1010 spool. I haven't used it yet, just put it in. Actually I think I need to buy a tool and adjust the spool shaft pin since its sticks out more in one side instead of being close to even but other than that it looks nice. I was using a steez limited 105sv spool that I liked a lot and if I don't like the 1010 it might go back in.

I'd definitely to take you up on that offer but I haven't ever taken a reel apart before so I'd have to figure out how to get the driveshaft out to send it to you.

Just found a pristine TDZ 100M in 5.7:1
So excited about this find. I’m not sure what to do with it.

Put some line in it, mount it on one of those many spare rods and go to work! :-c
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

I almost bought a purple rc-002 a while back but hesitated. The mjr looks great. How does the rc-002 perform?

That old lime green zpi spool is the sheet. I'm surprised no one has tried to powder coat or anodized a spool around here. When those painted zpi spools came out, I remember someone asking how much weight the paint would add. Only on here, lol.

That was my first thought, I admit.
This is the way.
