Oldie but a goodie, maybe one day I will finally get around to spooling it up and fishing it.

Wow; very cool. You have to wonder how many of these are floating around in that condition. I would think you’d turn heads with that even in Japan.

That is cool! Would love to see a few more shots!
I'll remove the side plate, pull the spool and take some more shots of the internals and put together an album on Imgur or something this week :)

Took the Ryoga 1520HL paired with an Orochi XXX Destruction 70 out this weekend and tied on a swimjig. Didn't catch anything, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

Beautiful setup. I am thinking about picking up the exact same set up for throwing the Magdraft. Mainly the 6" version. How do you like the rod and reel?
Thanks
Jarett

Thanks! It's one of my favorite setups.

Rod - I use it mainly for 5.8 keitechs, 6 inch Magdrafts, and smaller glides like an I-Slide 185. It has a good taper to pin single and treble hook moving baits. I've also used it for heavier Texas rigging (3/4-1oz) and it works well for that too.

Reel - The Ryoga is the smoothest winding reel I own, even smoother than the 15 Conquest 101HG I have with the tier 1 MM gears. It is a very solid reel.

That sounds great. How does the rod balance with the heavier Ryoga? I cannot decide between the Ryoga or the Steez A.

It balances great with the Ryoga. Right on the lock nut.

I don't have a Steez A but only hear good things about it. You can't go wrong with either.
