The Alphas 800 is a great reel but exceptionally boring to look at. So I got myself some industrial Polyurethane paint, (hoping this will improve scratch resistance) in my preferred color: matte black. Pattern inspired by Jackall + Decadeworks

Waiting for a carbon handle to fit my Point Blank 691MLXF perfectly

Talented stuff right there! I would have gone for the solid matte black for fear that the edges would start peeling back, but I don't know much about painting anything. You are also right that the reel looks much better with that paint job, think I would prefer most colors over the shiny metal look. I have the new Zillion and wish terribly it looked like the old ones in color.

I've got an SV105 on my Point Blank 69MLXF. It looks nice also. I replaced the red line guide with silver. Don't waste money on a CF handle. They look nice, but they aren't any lighter than the cutout handles. I have a 90mm handle on mine.

Im going with the cheap Chinese option (~16$), it’s actually more about the length - 85mm feels too small. 90‘s great, 95 even better!

As to the paint peeling concern - if it actually does, I’ll sand the transition and turn that whole mf matte black 8-)

I haven't tried any of the Chinese CF handles. The SLP Works version is just not worth it. I like a 90 mm handle on my Alphas when I am using them for power fishing for bass. I have an 85 mm handle that I use for BFS trout stream fishing because I am pitching to targets. The shorter handle doesn't get in the way and I don't need the leverage when I am not bass fishing. The 80 mm handles are too short for me in any situation.
