Can't remember if I posted this one already, as it was several yrs ago. A buddy's son caught this 5+ lb. bluegill on a crankbait, fishing an old rod that was broke off about a foot and re-tipped. The entire lure is in his mouth. That's a little mudhole in a cow pasture in middle GA, literally just a low place that keeps water. He said there was a small gator in there that kept stalking them, trying to take their fish when they hooked up.

Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

That thing is crazy dark. Some of it is the picture and low light, but I would like to see the exact habitat where that bluegill was caught because I have never seen one that is quite that dark. It must have been in one of those grass mats in dark water.

Great Googly Moogly, that's fantastic. Pound for pound very few fresh water fish have the spunk of a criminally insane bluegill ... I pretty much target them exclusively every June or so when the biggun's get aggresive. I can't even fathom hooking into a slab like that ...

My biggest carp came on a bladed jig also. I've weighed a lot of fish in the upper 20's. This fish dwarfed them. It's pectoral fins were the size of a softball. The pictures that I took were horrible because I was by myself and I took them with an old phone as I was landing the fish next to the boat. Talk about multitasking. This thing was also so freakishly fat and gross that it looked like the red ear sunfish that I posted earlier. I won't bring those slimy carp aboard. I run a tight ship! :D

1st walleye in years. I was trying out the new Hit Stick as a slow floating jerkbait/minnow bait while getting blown around in the wind and got this guy. It seems like a pretty versatile bait. It has a nice swimming action and does the the nose down stop after a jerk. After reading up on it I see that eyes like these and I can confirm.

The only walleye and pike that I have caught were both caught while fishing in national bass tournaments. We don't have them in SoCal. I have been catching carp or catfish every week in my golf course ponds. I back-hooked a carp that was about 10 pounds on one of my BFS setups last week. I wanted the mini crank back so I had to fight it for 10 minutes. What I think might be the same damn carp gobbled a bladed jig a two nights ago.

Tasty walleye! I rarely keep freshwater fish, but I would be keeping some of those if we had them.

I let that one go. Dad could have killed me when he saw the picture, I just was scared killing a big female would affect the future population. Our game and fish says it is fine, supposedly we have MONSTERS in the White River here. I know I have caught 2 like the one pictured now, a 10lb and whatever this one weighed. At one point the world record was supposedly close to where I caught the walleye pictured.

A few from this week.

My 1st ever accidental yellow perch. Got him on a wacky 4 1/4 Stick-O under a dock

This crappie wanted to take a swipe at a Gantarel Jr

Another walleye on a jerkbait. This one came on whatever that slow float big vision 110 is called.
