Ooh nice. Didn't know that. Maybe I will swap gears with my zillion g which is designated for punching. I bought the JDM zillion g so it has the aluminum gears.hoohoorjoo wrote: ↑Sat Sep 18, 2021 6:30 pmI love mine, too. FWIW, these reels have the same exact gear set as the new Zillion G.
Re: Alphas Appreciation Thread
Thanks! It works awesome too. Caught all 5 of these footballs a couple days ago in a tournament with the combo + the 100mm savage gear prop walker! Didn't even have to switch rods.
Re: Alphas Appreciation Thread
OKAY FELLAS GOT ME A CONSUGI SPOOL
NOW WHAT LOL
Seriously I have given this some thought. I would like to get an air stream custom spool and drop it in a pixie variant.
The price of the spool alone would suggest just buying the reel. I just really want to see what its like to run a px68 finesse spool in the Alphas Air stream. With this new congusi spool ( i may be mis spelling that ) I'd like to modify a Alphas Type F or Alpha R edition
( not sure what the differences are but color wise its the better option for my vision.. and you've got to have vision) but a Zonda would be best just because its a dark colored reel..
So for all you Alpha Alphas owners what do you suggest and why?
( see what I did there? you guys could be witnessing the rise of the new Kevin Hart..lol )

Re: Alphas Appreciation Thread
How about a Daiwa SV105 Reel Its dark and cheaper than a Zonda. The Cosugi works spool wont fit in a Zonda reel because the magnet and housing in the sideplate are a little taller than a regular alphas unless you swap out the magnet and housing from a sol or alphas reel.
Thanks for the epiphany captain obvious

Re: Alphas Appreciation Thread
If you want a very cool reel get a Daiwa aird Red tune or a red megabass lauda if you wanted to go all red.

I saw the price on a white Laudaspencerinstl wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 3:52 pmIf you want a very cool reel get a Daiwa aird Red tune or a red megabass lauda if you wanted to go all red.
I had to get my rear brakes and rotors replaced and that would have been HALF...
I did see a sv105, I guess I can just change out the gears.

The sv 105 comes in 5.8:1 or 7.2:1 depending on what you were going to use it for.goldrod wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 4:35 pmI saw the price on a white Laudaspencerinstl wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 3:52 pmIf you want a very cool reel get a Daiwa aird Red tune or a red megabass lauda if you wanted to go all red.

Zonda Rosso and Lauda Rosso are also excellent red enthusiast tier Alphas options. I have a Zonda Rosso myself.

What’s the cost of admission to the Zonda Rosso life

Re: Alphas Appreciation Thread
Too much if you get what's on Ebay. I got mine from Ichiban for like $460 like new with box. Got my Red Monoblock for a similar amount from here. Keep an eye on Ichiban. As a righty reeler you have less competition from other enthusiast buyers. No way I would have gotten any of my red limited edition MB reels for what I got then for if they would have been lefties.

My finesse skipping machine. Alphas SV with carbon drag star and handle on an old Steez Skyray 6'8" ML. This one lives to shoot docks. This was my 1st Daiwa and enthusiast tier import reel. Never looked back and am still a big fan on the Alphas today. Just got off the lake skipping docks and only managed an hour on the water and one bite but it was a big 3 pushing 4. Put up a good fight on 10# flouro.
