Smallmouth Workhorses
I fish Lake Michigan quite a bit and these rods cover 95% of my smallmouth fishing. The reels all balance the rods beautifully.
NRX 822 DSR w/ 2500 Certate LT - Vertical dropshot
NRX 901 w/ 4000 Certate LT (JDM version with slow gear ratio) - Hair jigs
Steez AGS MML w/ 4000 Exist LT - the rest

I can't remember what line is on the rods. It's 10 lb on the Steezs and 822, and 6lb on the 901.

Thanks for sharing.
The southern part of Lake Michigan is very special for smallmouth.
I'm a river rat, but enjoy catching smallies on the lakes that connect into Lake Michigan. Now, having access to a boat, I really want to get that Steez rod.

Tackle Trap has the Steez MMLFS rod in stock. Hard to find this model so if you’re near ready, I’d pull the trigger...

The best hair jig that I have found is the one tied by Luke Ronnestrand that is sold by Thorne Bros out of Minnesota. The Feider Fly is good and widely available.BRONZEBACK32 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 20, 2021 5:21 pmSweet combo's

Sweet combos! I fish Erie sometimes, and love drop shot with a finesse baitcaster.
