I would really like to know more about the Zillion TWS spools, especially that one on eBay. The previously available spool for the Zillion TWS really woke mine up, the one with holes and a shallow capacity. With 30lb braid it made one hell of a topwater or finesse casting reel. It does occasionally have a raspy sound, but other than that performance is great. That $100 version is much lighter though. Just curious if anyone has had similar results or tried the other DIY spools available for the larger 1516 or 1520 Zillion TWS.
That same spool is on Aliexpress for cheaper. Nice fish brand I think.

Nice, that is a good bit cheaper. I would really like to try one, just hard to not put money toward a new reel.

28mm deep long cast spools it either an air brake or fixed inductor. For when you bought a BFS reel by mistake?
Actually I shouldn't talk smack about the spools. I have one on my Tatula Type R with the Air Brake and it has been great. They're thicker construction, heavier SV spools with stiffer springs. Still versatile and deal with wind well but are much more free at the end of the cast and afford more distance when cast hard bomb casting. I use the crap out of mine at around 3/8 to 1/2 oz total weight.

More likely for those who love the reel and carry only 1 combo, as when you're bush-whacking on creeks and small ponds. That way, you keep the small form factor and convenience of a single combo, but the reel becomes more diverse for general purpose techniques, as well.

If one of these comes out for the Alphas TW SV I'm getting one and an Alphas TW. That'll be the closest thing to an Alphas TW SV Boost.

What is everybody's opinion on the AMO 30mm Alphas/Steez/Millionaire CT spool? I have one on order and curious as to what I should expect from a performance standpoint. I typically fish for trout and it appears to be like a good spool for that. I plan to spool it with some 8lb J-Braid. I'm currently using the SV700S in my Alphas CT.
You can look a few post up and see the new version weighs 4.73g with bearing now. Super light and it’s fast. With 4lb fluoro it can cast trout magnets (just under 1g) with decent distance (30-35ft) my rod. I can get them to fall in a general aiming area but it’s not pinpoint at that weight. My rod is a custom phenix mirage blank turned bfs with spiral wrapped micro guides.

Once I get to the 1.2g range on up I can get pinpoint accuracy again and can pitch the baits exactly where I’m aiming. I’m still running the stock Daiwa side plate spool bearing and I haven’t polished the spool tips so there’s probably a little more potential in it. With braid you may get even better results still. Good spool for the money.

My 28 mm DIY spool arrived:

But mine smallest reel is 30 mm. Maybe I try it anyway :)

They already have a DIY 32mm spool for the Alphas SV TW.

A deep Long Cast spool. They have a long cast for the air for some reason.

Tested my 28 mm spool (in a 30 mm reel). Yes, it casts 'significantly' better light lures than 30 mm spools. 'Significantly' means in this point that it feels casting much better, but if going to measure casts, difference would not be that significant...

Got tangled line in every 5 casts - 1 mm gap in between spool end reel is not good :D

Nice! Be careful nothing catches major or locks up with that gap line is getting through. I was reading back on this old thread, want to add a DIY for my original Tatula Type R, I run 50lb Sufix 832 and wanted the shallow spool for a 20lb fluorocarbon option. I still want to try the fixed inductor spool for the Zillion TWS, they almost look like ZPI knock offs. Supposed to be super light, but no idea if anyone has tried one.

Yes, I have the spool in red, pink and silver for use in my zillions, catalina and ryoga 1520.
They are very nice spools and remniscent of ZPI.
An alternative, similar, and more quiet spool can be found on ebay (sds custom).

There are Rays inductors for SV spools to what I assume is convert them to fixed inductor? Not sure. It mentions glue and there dosen't appear to be an SV ramps in use in the pic of the Alphas TW SV spool. $8 for a pair of them. Not a bad thing to tinker with. I have a pair on the way along with one of their thin inductor SV inductors and ramps.

Nice. Let us know how it works out for you.

After almost 6 years and 67 pages with >1000 posts in this thread, the title of the thread should change 😂

No way I could ruin an SV spool if you have to glue a piece on and permanently modify the spool.
