The guys at the Tackle Trap are awesome and I’m sure the grease is great.
$20 for 2 oz of grease seems to be a little on the high side.
Hopefully someone with some experience with it can chime in if it’s worth the cost.

ZPI F-0 sells for $18 for 7 grams
Daiwa 104 sells for $10 for 10 grams
IOS sells for $30 for 8g

This is 2oz (which goes a LONG way) of a custom blended lubricant that has been used in the full time reel repair and tuning shop at The Tackle Trap for years. It has proven results having been applied to literally hundreds and hundreds of reels over the years.

This grease is a blend I came up with about 5 years ago. It’s base is a full synthetic grease, cut with a quality synthetic oil. It’s blended to be light enough for fluid rotation of the reel, but thick enough to protect components and stay in place. I’ve used this in all sorts of weather conditions from low teens to high 90s with no issues.

As Gary stated, the price point for this grease it where it should be. 2 ounces goes a long long ways. I do around 25-30 reels a week, and a 2 ounce jar last between 4-5 weeks depending. So roughly 100-150 reels per jar. For a do it yourself guy, it will take a while to hit that number.

If y’all have any questions about usage, or other concerns, reach out to me at the shop or by email. I’ll be happy to answer any questions you have about it.

Thanks,

I couldn’t be happier with this grease. It’s absolutely worth the price.

Hi, Just wondering if you have any assessment if the Tackle Trap grease will stand up to light Saltwater use? Thanks.

The grease will hold up well with light use in saltwater, but I’m not sure how it would hold up to frequent salt use.
