Steez 100 brake clicker not working

Post by zelmo » Fri Sep 03, 2021 9:36 am

I have a Steez 100 HL that the brake clicker stopped working on and it won't stay in any position other than full brake. I had another of the same model that was working so I took the cover off to see if I could tell the difference. I didn't see anything so I put the cover back on and the brake on that reel is now acting the same way.

Obviously I screwed something up but I don't know what. What should I check?

Try to snug the mag dial screw tighter. If it continues, the entire palm plate needs to be disassembled and either that wishbone clicker under the dial needs grease, or the mag dial needs to be replaced due to wear.
Try not to let your mind wander. It is much too small to be outside unsupervised.

Sorry, I just saw that there is a Maintenance forum where I should have posted this.

Bend the large retainer that hold the mags with adjustable teeth. Or twist it sometime just twisting that helps it hold down better at some angles. That is your issue the teeth are gapping away

While I like to tinker with things I am fearful of causing damage when I don’t know what I am doing (like the time I managed to delete DOS in the early years of computers.). I wasn’t able to find instructions on how to disassemble the palm plate so I sent those reels out to be repaired and serviced.

I now have a Steez EX 100H that has developed the same problem. I want to fix this one myself. I still haven’t found instructions on how to take the palm plate apart. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Here’s the schematic. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0384/ ... S_100H.pdf

You’ll start at part #18.

Thank you. I had the schematic. What I can't figure out is how to get to parts 2 thru 8 to inspect?

Push #2 in to compress the spring and pop C clip #6 off.

Ok. When I have the plate off I can see part #9. The rest can be accessed after removing #10?

Yes. But to remove #10 you must remove the bearing. Underneath the bearing is the main screw that holds the entire piece together.

Try bending #8 or making it wider. Install everything and see if that fix the slip. Might need to do it couple times. Also bend the #13 so it forces pressure to the #11 so it prevents it from lifting up also causing it to slip.
