Conquest 100 DC HG Side Plate

Of course the manual is in Japanese…how do I get the side plate open to adjust the brakes?

Shown on schematic instructions. Small black lever at bottom of rear of thumbar. Slide towards reel foot and sideplate pops open. Then follow drawings to access further.
