Scorpion 100 DC Drive Shaft removal?

Post by hmnginmn » Sun Nov 28, 2021 4:56 pm

Cleaning this reel for a buddy. It's extremely dirty and a couple of the bearings show signs of corrosion.

I'm trying to remove the drive shaft, I have removed the two screws that usually holds the drive shaft down to the frame but it's still firmly intact after I remove the two screws. Any ideas?

Just stuck. Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle. Could soak it with Kroil and try to break its hold. Brian.

Undo screws. Remove idler gear from level wind shaft.

Put the handle and nut on tightly and use that for grip and pull.

Thanks guys. I removed the two screws, lube it up really good and used a flathead screw driver to wedge each side each side of the plastic gear slowly. Thought I was going to break it but I got it. The bearing corroded into the frame.
