Putting on Drag Star

When I take apart my reels I always have a hard time getting the drag star on. It always ends up wobbly and takes a few tries. Are there any tricks to doing this?

I normally will tighten drag star all the way down before tighten the nut with hand. Use wrench only just a little bit and to align the screw hole with nut cap.
