Spro BBZ-1

Post by sdfd504 » Tue Jul 31, 2007 7:58 pm

Has anybody used this bait and if so how have you liked it? I can get a deal on them and I was thinking about trying one out for some deep fish. Also I can't seem to find the weight of it anywhere?

I have the 3 models, the floating and slow thinking are in my favorite list, specially the floating. Initially they have some problems with the fins falling off but mine are still intact after close to a year of use. Fish them slow.
Best luck

I sold my bbz when I got my baby tool, It swam nice, about the same as the baby tool without all the detail. Still fishless on it also.

This is heavy bait so when you cast it try to keep it as close to the water as possible after the swing.

The BBZ 1 is what I call a BIG 8 inch bait. There are small 8 inch baits but this one definitely qualifies as a big 8 inch bait. It's a very thick bait and fairly heavy compared to other 8 inch baits. Compared to the Baby Tool the BBZ is alot thicker. In defense of the BBZ it's a very well made bait. Great fluid action to it. Your gonna need a big boy rod and reel to throw it.

Did you modify the fins or has it stayed intact the whole time?

I know the Tackletour review shows that they have problems retaining their fins.

I bought the slow sinking for versatility but it hasn't touched the water yet.

What line are you using to throw the BBZ?

None of my BBZs have any problems with their fins.

My latest line is P-Line Evolution 25 lbs.

I bought two and had a problem with one of the top fins on my rainbow patterned one... it cracked off inexplicably after it's first trial run... needless to say, i called spro and they said that they would replace it... i sent it back and will keep you updated as i have not received the new one yet...

QNT,
We will be on the lookout for the bait coming back to us. Did you have a tracking number for the BBZ-1 that you sent back to us?
Please let me know the model that you sent back to us and I will go ahead and get one picked and packed and ready to send out upon the receipt of your bait.

Thank you for purchasing SPRO products.

I like the swimming action of my BBZ. I have not used it alot but that will change when the fall trout stocking starts.
