More swimbait ramblings. So I never got around much to throwing the wake N crank style of offerings. In a Kayak it isn't much fun IMHO, I always feel like I am getting towed by the bait more often than not, again just my opinion I am certain there are plenty of folk who would agree otherwise. Anyway since I have been shoring it more as it gets tougher to be in a yak for long periods with my rickety bones I have opted to get some more significant log time with those style of baits. This will be another positive note on the Megabass Valkyrie World Expedition 6'6". I have generally reserved this wakizashi for my biggest offerings in the 7" Bullgills, 8" Bullshads, the Balam 245mm and even the Gan Craft JC 230(for a very brief period  ). Now after a whimsical but always by methodical thought I tested my billled wake baits in the Bullrats and the Bullwake, both around 2.5oz. Pitching was a sh*t ton of fun in the back yard oasis, so I can imagine how much fun it should be to really sling these for distance at night from choice shore locations and crank away :-k I feel this is a choice stick for this style, even better from the a nice platform in a bass boat to crank away with the power of a Tatula 300HL and choice line payload

Good write-ups on the baits and rods, and great photos of the scenery.

I'm a dedicated big bait / swimbait fisher, yak'r too relocating from Tx to Phx in a couple of months. It will be interesting and challenging to learn bass fishing in deep, clear water!

Our eastern lower reservoirs unfortunately are not clear, really stained if anything but I think Bartlett may be quite stained as well, but I cannot vouch for sure or not. I believe Lake Pleasent is still clear which generally is always the case:-k

Welcome to the suck! Right now it is hot but should cool off by the time you get to the Basin 8-)

"JAFS" :P or Just Another F**king Swimbait  As if I needed another one =P~

As my usual perusing led me to one of my regular sites although I don't even think I'm a member there which is odd, anyway I just like it here better I guess :big grin: anyway I found this specimen looks like a tried-and-true Jerry Rago design in Collaboration with Swimbait Underground. I am new to Rago baits and this 3D model is neat with the 2 different ways to tie with a chin and nose area 2 clip on or tie onto directly. I look forward to using this as a variation to my already growing number of larger topwater presentations I like the chin line tie configuration as it really gets this particular bait waking hard, like it is a mad catfish that doesn't want to get landed! I like the traditional nose
tie as well if you try to burn it in it tends to roll a little bit to give it a little different look, should be great for a hard jerk and pause. I am using 6.3 gear ratio for those wondering. It floats pretty quick I wish I would have got a heavier version which it's the slower float rate and also cranks down a couple more feet for my understanding I think the deepest I was able to get in my pool isn't very big is maybe I was able to crank it down a couple feet. I'm sure an open-water I could get a couple more again for those who don't know I use straight braid so take that into consideration. Great for shallow weed lines, lay down areas and what not for sure 8-) Comes welll packaged with an extra tail which is always appreciated especially if you are into toothy creatures.. Thanks for letting me share as usual TT!

Well I haven't been out for a couple weeks or so weather has been up and down couple of good storms blow through life happening kids back in school usual goings-on but I have had time to do this :P these are the latest TWs to get my feather Magic. Some new baits and some old that haven't been feathered yet got blasted. I missed the Mikey 160 so much I just had to get another one, the Rago D3 I spoke on already, and I also decided to try a couple specimens from Ceasar and his crew at Toxic. I have had a chance to test those two baits out and very excited too get them toothed marked up hopefully at Lake Mary for some Pike. I'm going to try to do some more big bait fishing there more often in the future during the summers since these reservoirs are tough for Yak fishing at least for me especially if you chucking big baits these days I sometimes I wish I had a boat but definitely don't want the fuss right now so there you go. Plus the heat can just be a drag for me nowdays. Anyway thanks for letting me ramble that's my share for the day enjoy the bait porn.

Couple shots at Canyon, no takers but some notes. The 7'11" Valkyrie is an amazing stick. I tossed the Bullshooter 160 most of the night, sprinkled in some Toxic Wake N crank, this bait ended up to be pretty fun to throw in a Yak once I dialed in pattern of sailing the bait and retrieving it in the La Barge cove area. Super sweet to be out especially with little bugs out now and a nice moon to sling chunky baits and the weather is way cooler. Once out of La Barge Cove I tossed an 8" Triple Trout to beat the bottom with to end my night. All in all a good trip although no takers I did very much enjoy using the latest Valkyrie 4-Piece Rod that in the Tatula 300HL is such a great pairing especially for the baits that I choose to throw which generally is right around the four ounce mark at most. The Bullshooter 160 is an absolute gem to throw, I could really sail that bait. Most often I generally don't get the greatest distance with glide type presentations but the type package of the 160 really gets out there. I only had to adjust a rod maybe a couple times just to tighten up a couple joints and realign the guides just slightly 8-)

Super stoked, thank yous to Mr. Wood and the fine folks at Triple T for making it happen again, and that is a good thing 8-) The Valkyrie 7'4" H+ arrive a yesterday :big grin: I missed the 7'6" XXH, but I try not to get what have already had which is strange :-k Anyway had to share the news and I am super psyched to get some water time in with it. When it comes it I have chosen 50lb PP in Hi Viz yellow to lace up the Ryoga 1520HL :P 6" bullshads for sure but so much more will be done with it like her sister rod spec-wise in the Triza Dragoon 8-) . I am very pleased at where I stand with my power big bait game plus 3 generations of Valkyrie in the line up and twin White Pythons! A full house plus a jokers wild card :big grin:

That is going to be a new plan of mine for a summer grind change of pace. we have a few, maybe 1 or 2 places that house pike 8-)

I definitely have an addiction folks

"Psycho Perch" the latest TW Toxic to get attacked by the Feather Fairy, probably the last big bait for awhile folks :-k
All around nice chunky water disturbing maniac, plus at higher speeds a nice sub surface crank down from my humble back yard pool testing but come to think of it I am certain Cesaer has swim action videos up of all his creations. As per the usual I continue my trend of being late to the party :P

Okay so I lied with the recent toxic day 3 which I'm fairly new to that whole extravaganza and it looked amazing as shown on the front page had unfortunately a continued result in me having a high fever for swimbaits. I guess I'm getting itchy cuz the weather is here is getting a lot more conducive to being out on a yak especially during daylight hours. So I went and did a bad thing to try to quell my fever. I throw the bullshooter 160 ss quite a bit but I wanted a another like bait for a profile change up and generally I see the most on my home reservoirs and they get pretty big. Anyway I've been staring at Hiroshima Customs for awhile and almost chomped on the 5" Gillrilla series of glides by Brock Hiroshima and his namesake company 8-) and it is hard to find a bait better than a Bullshooter 160 SS(weight profile and action for me, bit again I wanted that shad profile)

I was stoked to see he still appears to have the 7" Hiro Shads in stock (I don't see a pre-order option for them so I think these are in stock )which is what I really wanted for the near perfect shad imitation (again, for me ideal weight, profile and looks like a killer action)and I said OK, cha ching!!!

I hope Deps pays attention they really need to make a shad profile such as like the Hiro Shad [-o< but I could be naive to the fact as well as I don't celebrate necessarily all their baits. I do understand they have their tried and true slide swimmer profile but man Hiro Shads and pretty much all of his eries look nasty and that is a good thing! I can't wait to get it back to base camp to the backyard test tank and ultimately on the open deep Waters of these reservoirs 8-)

I will of course flash a few pics for those who don't frequent his site often like I do :big grin:

All right so I hit the latest drop last week or so and got a toxic mink(Oreo Colorway) and I figured it gives me an opportunity to let the fairy feather
Image

As with a couple of the rodents (by Mike Bucca) in my modest arsenal that haven't got the Feather Explosion yet

Bucca Skunk: big thanks to Gary Wood for connecting it to be painted

we have skunks here so that's my obvious rationale at night  then of course I have my ground squirrel prairie dog whatever you want to call it presentation for the daytime again so goes the rationale

Chernobyl rhodents here we go..... pictures to come later once I get time to actually sit down and get everything all situated I think I might get some more tails that are really bright and crazy :-k
