It’s a start. For the low low too so I couldn’t pass it up.
I think it’s the floating version

Continuing on, and the old question again arises, "Why Stop?"

The latest is once again from Toxic. When you have a thing for a bait you have a thing for a bait I remember when I went through a fun Dep's 175 S S phase

This is from his latest drop from earlier in the week. The Mini Trucha Masu in Goldbar colorway and she comes in at around 4oz and about 8" in length. I don't know what drew me to it but I knew I wanted a bait of this style from Ceasar, but I was holding out for a carp colorway but I think this will do just fine  I am sure somewhere down the line it'll get the feather treatment but I have a bunch more baits coming in that I'm going to wait to do a big group of them together, next in line is the last three I don't have yet(The Lil Chorizo, Wade3 Hoggs and Whipper Snapper all look nneat! Anyway sometime down the road they will hopefully make their way over. Such a fun and versatile line of baits 8-)

As for the backyard pool test yet another outstanding Crankdown! I like this thing because you can creep it really slow and it has a nice undulation that doesn't take much to impart and then when you get up to some more moderate to higher speeds it'll crank down to about 2 feet probably deeper when I get some distance out on a reservoir but my backyard pool is pretty small so there you go comes with some fun accessories I was wondering how this was set up with these little tassel like appendages that mimic fins has a nice little kind of pipe cleaner thin gauged wire to assist in attaching a replacement set. Comes with the typical 2 fins as Replacements with a toothpick or two to attach and 1 sets of replacement fins they look like modified jig skirts.

Holidays have me busy so I haven't been out much plus it's getting a little colder now so with my old rickety a** I really need to be motivated to get out on a kayak  When it warms up again to my liking I will be out more for sure.

All right so obviously I couldn't wait and once I get an idea I usually can't wait to execute so after some Christmas shopping with the kids today I was able to sit down unwind and get down with some feather magic 8-)

Okay, it has been a minute. Finally I was able to get in on a pre order for Kevin Brightwell and his KGB line of baits, I was able to secure a Smooth Chad Shad glide bait. I won't probably see it until sometime in June but I've been trying to get on these for a while and can never get in on time for his normal drops and whatnot so I'll be very excited to try this Glide bait out but stay tuned as it'll be a few months yet.

I also pulled the trigger with Rafa Baits and picked up one of his segmented topwater builds, a billed 7" 4 plus oz Gill profile bait I'm pretty excited about that one as well. That should be here in a few days or so so you'll probably hear for me pretty quick on that

I was also able to secure the rights to this bad boy here toxic baits whippersnapper 2.0. I picked it up a couple weeks ago and just finally is able to get it blasted with feathers as you can see. Backyard test reveal that is definitely more of a topwater oriented bait although pretty much all of toxics baits are topwater oriented but many can crank down quite a few feet and probably more dependent on Hardware anyhow it's a great little tail slapper on the surface it can get subsurface if you crank woth more diligence but definitely wants to have a tendency to stay up on the surface to be more of a wake style bait. I don't know the exact weight but my guess would be about 2.5 oz and is quite a bit smaller profile overall which is nice to have a little change up as his Wade Hoggs style baits are nice and chunky and are just north of 4 oz. As usual thanks for letting me share 8-)

Okay, some notes:

With the amended words on the Whipper Snapper 2.0, the bait now at moderate to slower retrieve yielded a more off the bat crank down action and at slower speeds stayed closer to a wake bait action and that is with the updated #1 Quattro X-S21s and Feather Magic. She tends to wash out a bit at more diligent pace so she will be a top crawler, side note I am running 6.3 gears.

The Rafa segmented TW is slick as hell. As you can see it absolutely takes up space and the bill just fits in this box configuration. The finish and colorway is nasty!! I am super stoked to find out that he's got swivel Hardware hangers on there which is a very nice it does not come with they split ring for the nose tie on but I run number four decoy egg snap so that doesn't bother me none I may add one down the road to check and see if that does anything to the action but as of right now the action is lights out again like most top Waters of recent years this one will wake at slower retrieves really nice undulation due to being multi-segmented and at more diligent speeds or cranks on the 6.3 reel got it to crank down at least a foot in the backyard pool. I'm confident it can get down at least another foot two or so with a full-blown cast from a boat or shore. This beast is shown with comparable baits to show is chunk! This one will of course get an awesome feather treatment as well, I just can't help myself. I may get on that tonight or tomorrow and I have to still do the same to the Hiroshima Billrilla :big grin:

Well this morning was going well from shore until my last cas, bang a rope monster snag my 7" Hiro Shad.

Image

Some notes:
Just when you think you have a spot mapped/or figured out it can still bite ya. Been real comfortable from this particular spot for awhile doing the resl patient countdown to bottom many times.

I am again reminded although it has been awhile how polarizing SB slinging can be

50lb PP is definitely a SB line, glad I went down from 65lb

My knots are strong and #4 Decoy Egg snaps are still beast.

I will keep that in mind.. Sorry to hear you lost your lure but I think your better than the SML ( Schultz Malt Liquor)..lol
I just ordered a sinking version of the Gan Craft and I'm hoping I get bit at least once...

Okay, back on track just got this Rafa in to help ease the pain of my recent loss

This Night Rider colorway in bass profile is also a space taker :big grin:

also per the lovely review on our beloved website I pulled the trigger on Bigg Nasty Baits and got onboard with the Nat Rat

The Nat Rat should arrive in a few days, that one will be Chernobyl Skunk #3

I pulled the trigger in the Nat Rat last night to ease the pain of the Redbirds laying an absolute egg last night against the Rams

Pictures down the line when they get a visit from the feather fairy :P plus some additional notes with my backyard pool testing

Why put off what I can give you all now :P Pool testing notes:

This latest Rafa has a sweet action and with the tip/action of the 4pc 7'11" XH VWE it is lights out for anything that sniffs this thing. These style of baits remind me of Buzz Jets Magnum style, drunken, seemingly end over end figure 8 moving forward. Lots of disturbance on the low crawl surface retrieve and then at a diligent speed gets down to about a foot probably more again my backyard pool is pretty small. it is a very true swimmer at all speeds and the segments give this bait a nice undulation and really make the feathers do their magic for clear water or in 0 viz some texture to intice an aggressive bite. These baits are girthy and chunky. as mentioned before take up some space. My plan is to get up north this season to one of our lakes and get into the pike that are up there and get some teeth marks on all these bad boys 8-)

Nat Rat in from Bigg Nasty Baits 8-) My mind is already churning out how to turn it into Chernobyl skunk #3

I won't do too much on the swimming notes(maybe a blurb) since our homies here hooked it up already 8-)

Rest assured some more pictures will follow once I dunk it and get it properly dressed :big grin:
