Official :P

Some notes minus pool time for now.

Bigg Nasty Nat Rat "Chernobyl skunk #3 this particular one is a bit different than got reviewed initially by our boys it seems to Now take notes from the toxic mink or toxic anything as well as some other companies(I just associate Toxic more with this practice lol) in that it requires toothpicks to make sure everything is all nice and secure with the tail. I definitely like that it comes with really beefy Hardware, the don't mess around hooks and owner split rings so I'm not going to mess with those plus it'll give me a bigger palette to work with than the decoy quattro's I have been working with lately as they can get a little tight with space when getting feather Arrangements on there. On the Practical side the folks that are getting into big stripers and muskallonge, Snook any of that type of stuff, snakeheads you name it, this hardware should hold up to the abuse.

Wow the Nat Rat is a booty shaker!!! Really flips the tail back and forth nicely and I pretty much Echo what has already been stated by our folks here at tackletour. Very nice on a slow to moderate retrieve for surface to subsurface and with a little more diligent pace you can get it to crank down fairly easily I got it down to about a foot which it seems to be in general for the size pool I work with in my backyard. This specimen is a true swimmer at seemingly at all speeds(with 6.3 at least) Very excited to have made it part of my crowded pack of TW presentations :big grin:

I got a rodent problem :big grin:

Went back to Scott Whitmer and his awesome company and picked up a Medium sized rat offering. Most folks are familiar with these but I liked the smaller profile offering. Many of his XL rats are in the 4oz ish mark and above

My guess is probably about 2.5 oz I don't have a scale of course so take that with a grain of salt

Preview of course and love the color shifting fleck in his schemes. I believe this one is going to get the "red-eyed trash Panda" treatment as far as tail and Feathers go and although this bait has had Reviews somewhere I will still give my notes on this Medium sized snack :P

Some back yard pool testing notes:
"Trash Panda" seemingly likes to be a nice slow slow crawler for Surface 2 subsurface bait(nice little waggle with the tail sachet) and add a little bit more moderate and diligent pace on the retrieve and higher speeds it'll crank down right away until about a foot as you all know my back yard pool isn't the biggest so that seems to be pretty typical for most of the stuff I test out. I like that it's got a nice slower float to it when it gets down to depth. This one doesn't seem to make quite as much body noise/knock or have as much booty shake/tail whip especially at lower speeds which isn't a bad thing for someone who's looking for a little bit more of a quiet presentation with more natural splashing noise or water disturbance however your rationale wants to play it out). Perhaps when I change out the tail Iight see some differences within the action towards the aft end. At rest she sits nicely and fairly even on the top as you would expect from a bait in this category. I want to believe this is a resin based build along with his other style of baits. Stayed tuned for the aftermath when I done mixing it up with feathers and appropriate Danny Joe's Original Floating Worm for the tail 8-)

More Triple Trout Med/Rat notes: seemingly true swimmer at all retrieve speeds(6.3 gearing for my Ryoga) also I notice she doesn't have the most resistance or action felt associated with the billed bait of this type. Translation she shouldn't wear you out with an abundance of cast/retrieves, but doesn't feel as exciting as some comparable baits. Not a knocking this bait at all just different in some aspects of the bait over all which in my eyes is a good thing. Nice to have some subtly in an ever expanding collection of baits(as for some eyes may at first glance seem like they are all the same type of bait doing the same thing, but this is proving to be not always the case at least for me) if any of that out of space mind thought makes any bit of sense

"Electro Lab rat #1", code name "Beaker" from Urbanhogs arrived today. What a fun little snack, this thing is on the smaller side statedweifht was 2.5 Ohh Zees but feels way lighter but this is a smaller profile build obviously(will show some side by sides with other rodentia for comparison Fun resin build, claims all wire through hardware points which is dope so you can have smaller snap rings available for use if one wanted and still have peace of mind for durability. Lots of garage builders use typical oversized at times eye screws that need at least a size #6(at least with Owner Hyperwires). Notes on swimming with other deats to come down the road for sure plus the usual treatment I give my specimens. This thing had the character for me to swoop down and pluck this one :P

Some swimming notes plus a bit of a comparison of rodentia 8-)

She is a true swimmer at all speeds so far in the back yard. Swimming profile very similar to previous Triple Trout medium rat. This definitely cranks down right away at almost all speeds even very slow cadence but as with all baits of this nature some adjustment in tip orientation and she will stay subsurface to Surface crawler. This pack of rodents is almost done. Another piece of wood should arrive tomorrow also a creation by Urbanhogs.

For the comparison we have from left to right, the recently procured Triple Trout medium rat, the Urbanhogs resin rat, Bucca rat, and Biggnasty Baits Nat Rat.

As always more to follow :big grin:

Correction on the Urbanhogs resin rat for weight, listed weight as just under 1.5oz and not 2.5

The brother has arrived Electro Lab rat #2 "Erlenmeyer Rat" again from Fernando and his Urbanhogs brand. This one is supposedly Wood but she like the resin mate is quiet on the retrieve. I figured since she was constructed of wood she would also have the nice audible knick that we come to associate with Wood construction. Maybe the finish dampens this :-k Anyway she pops right up like a Wood constructed bait. True swimmer at all speeds and sits as it should about half submerge sitting buoyant on the top. Cranks down only about say 6". I believe she is about the same weight as it's resin counterpart which is 1.45oz, although I cannot verify this as there were no stats that came along with this bait for my understanding but not to say that it's not out there. It will also like all my baits get some make over magic in feather dusters and update tail 8-)

Side note. Beyond this site I have no internet footprint aside from my SoundCloud I guess. What I'm trying to say is it makes hitting drops really hard for guys like me that don't have Snapchats or Instagrams or whatever the hell they're calling it nowadays some Brands I think I've come to terms that I may never procure as that seems to be a big hindrance for some of these garage bait makers and that's all fine I just thought I'd share that little tidbit.

Color matching eyes in these three, got the Triple Trout Rat and Urbanhogs rats(the wood bait I added some real nice homely and home made graphics  and a some silver paint on back and red blasts to look like it was ravaged, show more of that mess later)stripped butt naked. Awaiting an awesome feather shipment before I dress and update the hooks and splits on the three on the bottom picture. The wood knocking rodent on top got an updated tail "Alabama Craw" matches way nicer than the "chartreuse shad". Stay tuned for more madness :P

New tails situated, since these are small profiled I opted to cut the "head" off, the portion on above the banded part of the worm if that makes sense. I opted for "red shad" for the Red Eyed trash panda instead of "Texas craw" and of course "Methoilate" for the Electro lab rats :big grin:

Quick note although I did not show it real well all three have a typical bait keep type screw lock to attach stated tails to the body 8-)

Awesome Rats, thank you for keeping this thread going. Your custom feather work is creative and very nicely done!

I recently picked up a 3 piece and 2 piece PB Rat after meeting the owners of the company. Great people who make a great bait. Their BPM Custom 3 piece swim bait travel stick is very, very nice too. I've only had the chance to toss mine around in the ponds so far, but it is impressive at first sight and feel with excellent attention to detail, thread wrap, and epoxy work. I'll be putting in more time with this stick soon...
