Correction to weight of fish was 5.5

Next segment down the road shortly I'll cover my bait knocker which is a really slick and nice heavy duty one which you need for deeper reservoirs and what not 8-)

Some ramblings about water temperatures and the potenial effects on swimbaits this is obviously a known commodity but for me I'm really starting to get more first-hand experience on how much a different water temperatures can actually affect your swimbait for me specifically have to stay would be my Glide baits in particular the dep's 175 SSSS although I have essentially the same model they're from different time periods with some subtle differences that I can't really extrapolate on too much other than weight difference but I find that some obviously want to sink a little more diligent than others and I just now found out one that I had sitting in my box is now a floater even though it was described as a slow sinking model I bring this up as I've noticed key differences in between my actual water time in theory and practice time in my pool when my pool is substantially warmer I believe I do apologize as I don't have exact science numbers here just wanted to share that bit of information as I find it interesting that I'm now going to utilize certain baits more for specific situations due to the fact that there can be some differences depending on the season when a particular bait is deployed I've discovered some fun differences in that some become more slow floating depending if I've have them dressed which pretty much all my base are now feather dressed so sometimes that gives me a nice super slow slow sink sometimes it gives me as suspending action and in other cases I find that it actually becomes a slow Riser depending on the Cadence and speed of a retrieve which is also fun to learn especially sometimes in water it's so murky where I am at home reservoir wise and I don't really get eyes on my bait so I can't really tell what it's doing now in the pool I have a better visual of what it's doing that that may not exactly translate to the actual water time and due to water temperature differentials. But now knowing this nice bit of information through tons and tons of practice of my own of course I am now discovering this fun information and of course it helps me adjust my fishing relative to what it's doing now that I have a better understanding of what water temperatures will do to certain type of baits. I hope that helps some folks out and makes sense to others hopefully again this is nothing new here just more of my experience in Discovery

Also per some slight nudging from a fellow TTer  a 230 SS JC is on the way for more craziness :P

Initial Impressions from Madness Japan and this smaller version of the 300. This Lazer Hasu 245 specimen is very pleasing to include overall packaging on every aspect even on stuff that I don't necessarily care about and speaking of Packaging plan to spend a few minutes unpacking her has the Box and the plastic flaps and tabs we're hard to figure out for myself and it has about four zip ties connecting the bait snugly to the foam padding that it come housed in with its Packaging which also comes in a  nice  unassuming white box lol but still super cool factor. sketchy price point probably for some but I'm trying to get the information out to folks who want to give it a try and try to get some better first-hand knowledge that sometimes it's not as readily available to some. Looks like a gives you a nice extra two pins for attaching replacement or change out tails to the bait. Beyond any extras that's about all I could see

It seems to be in my opinion kind of modified Glide segmented swimmer has the very first joint is extremely tight with almost little to no movement(I think they decided to do fusion surgery on this guy lol) so it doesn't necessarily snake or undulate as much as you think up front but definitely has a lot of swing in motion more towards the tail after the second segment seems to want to do what it needs to do I'm swimming it or I should say retrieving it on a 6.3 tatula 300 laced with 20lb cxx Copoly seem to do very well at least in my hands it's nice cuz you can give it really nice jerk actions and make it kind of walk the dog in a sense. I'll still learning the bait of course as it's something I haven't necessarily seen or used as I feel it's kind of like a hybrid. So far about 30 mikes of backyard pool results are pretty fun I look forward to learning its finer intricacies before I take it out for real world test if side note if I do like I say I'm going to do down the road and hunt Pike definitely want to get a bunch of spare tails, lol! The tail I believe is probably a very key component I'm sure you could get away with other materials in a pinchbif you pour but it seems to give that perfect subtle slow Meandering surface fish tail action that you would probably typically see has a nice kind of flop over as it breaches the surface nicely and this beat is definitely a floater no subsurface or anything like that which I found can be the case was certain Bates and manufacturers, sometimes can be a subjective term??

Hardware seems solid and well-crafted as you would expect or should expect the hook seem very adequate I think they'll do the job nicely but I think of course I'll change them out 2/0 cut Point owners I think they're st41? Oh and you know feathers too. paint job I'm not too worried about it seems decent enough though although with Bates with these type of build I expect some decent Battle Scars which I'm cool with

Fits real nicely and both the nine inch union bait wrap and then snuggley fits without rolling or crimping the silicone tail in the actual Large 10" zippable wallet although you would only be able to fit one of these baits more than likely that I tested in that zippable wallet. Anyway of course more to follow with more usage and world real world application plus some additional pictures of course later on.......we all like fishing porn right :big grin:

Got some more pool time with this bait turns out as stated you can get it to walk the dog slightly although it's a little finicky and although it is a definite floater with a speedy enough and erratic retrieve you can get it subsurface to mimic chasing Bait fish that sort of thing 8-)

Definitely I think the key on this bate is the subtlety when you so-called Dead stick it or stall or pause during any particular retrieve as the tail end obviously has a lot more play and space for the joints to undulate with silicon tail to give you that really nice subtle presentation which would be key I believe in obviously Clearwater but shallower presentations, weed/structure lines?? I tried to get a shot or two to show some of the spacing looks like how they achieved this was just pulling the first joint a lot tighter for less play than the last segments which are noticeable in spacing differences

Seems like it's going to be a fun bait to use I certainly hope so for the price tag lol but I definitely have some situations where she'll get used for now I definitely see the locals at Lake Pleasant utilizing this thing quite often I bet stripers would love this thing also at Havasu and of course the Delta boys. Thanks again as usual for letting me share and all the madness

Ugh so my life saver that has seemingly been a solid staple has a big glaring hole seemingly and was exposed after I put the pieces together and examined all parts of what could have went wrong other than the obviously getting the bait stuck in the first place :P to catch those up if you didn't read Cal and his gan craft 230 thread I lost my first one that I got just fresh last night

It appears that this homemade creation that I procured wasn't fully deburred :-k You machinists will be real familiar with that term. Anyhow it looks like there was some burs or areas that weren't really cleaned up where a line can get exposed on the inner attachment points of the bait knocker thank my lucky stars I didn't lose Bates before because of this and thankfully using braid hopefully helped circumvent that loss who knows honestly I have used this tool on many many occasions and is saved my butt many times before

I definitely need to give attention and clean this tool up and possibly remodify if I were to confidently try to deploy it again

Anyway obvious lesson learned be sure to always check your equipment. So I still stand by cxx although I have re lined all my reels to now have a payload of braid only to help bring back my confidence again and if I absolutely have to I'll just do a leader for the Clearwater presentations

I'll be spending some time with some Scotch-Brite and fine grit and a Dremel to clean this baby up ](*,)

Few of the last couple of trips to the "Can". The Balam 245 is such an enjoyable TW! The re-spool of 65lb PP on the Tatula 300HL with the whipping stick in the Valkyrie World Expedition is tee taz!!. So far so so good with the Ryoga twins as I have been tossing one with the 68 special. Such incredible platforms for how I am currently fishing. I've been throwing topwater a lot more as there's been tons and tons of Shad boiling obviously for yee locals you need to get out there and catch some of these wolf packing largies that I'm missing with these bigger baits  I actually attracted quite a number of followers with the balam 245 yesterday. Saw quite a few bucks flash their skills as they got up a little closer to shore when I did Shore it towards the end of the day couldn't tell too much as the angle of the water didn't allow for very good looks for any potential followers. The day before I had a few small ones chase the Huddleston 68 specials as well. Anyway some cool shots....still a bit gun shy as I haven't fixed up my bait knocker just yet so sinking trebles have not been out since my last loss  thanks TT!

Man it has been awhile  meanwhile Manny Chee seems to be having the luck at the "Can". I believe he posted a Tube video a couple weeks ago, connected on a bullshooter 190 from the deets 8-)

Latest update to the arsenal, this tech worked wonders for years using the smaller stuff for mainly schoolers but would catch anything quite honestly for these home reservoirs I hunt, albeit not much lately.
Using old tricks using obviously bigger profile hopefully I can drop this on at Giant Flathead, Channel cat or preferably a bucket 8-) maybe up north for toothy pike maybe to across town waters for the always fun stripers :-k so many sticks to choose from but I will say the valkyrie World Expedition might work out just fine I have yet to lace up and try out the many sticks at my disposal. Not my first choice but I think the og python might work out well :-k it has that odd reserve power and wicked tip...I like the handle more than the twin Evo WPs...
Anyway just my side ramblings from the day as I break from my day's activities. Hopefully I'll be out on the water tomorrow try these out or sometime this week hopefully, again I am fashionably late to the bigger spoon party :P

Finally got out after a long while no takers but tossed the 8 inch bull Shad and 7" Bullgill. Almost forgot how amazing the Valkyrie World Expedition is, so smooth and powerful for lauching these baits. Along with the Tatula 300HL such an excellent set up!

This is part of the another thread but this is more specific to swimbaits and like gear. The newly procured Megabass Valkyrie World Expedition 4pc 7'11 XH got some pool testing done this morning. Tatula 300HL laced with 65lb PP is the pairing. Lob and pitched what you see in the pictures. What an amazing multi piece, she ended up on the high end with the Balam 245mm and the lowest was the 6" bull Shad. This rod and the length of the handle makes it really nice for those avid wake N crank guys( I utilized my 6" bull wake in Blue gill pattern) and being able to tuck the handle nicely in the armpit was super sweet. I can't wait to really launch these baits on my home reservoirs. The overall build is very much what you expect which is exceptional and amazes that MB is generally so consistent. I really like that I can feel that sache with the retrieve on the Nichols 6" mini mag spoons 8-) I'm sure this is been said a lot about rods in general but this a is super versatile specimen. Feel The Sweet Spot being above say 2 ounces maybe just slightly over 4oz(gan craft JC 230 maybe someday again =P~ )but Others May disagree and of course this is all subjective but this Rod loads a very nicely with this complement of lures that I tested this morning 8-) the next test will be to test the acumen with the 68 Special although not the biggest it is still a chunky plastic but I have little doubt this will cast, retrieve and more importantly set the hook home with either open jig hook or weedless Huddleston 68 Special. I assume this can go bigger but as of now that is my biggest bottom bouncer as I generally throw the trebles first and most often.

Nice Goldie

Got the Valkyrie World Expedition 4pc 7'11 XH out last night for testing of the Hudd 68 Special as stated my largest plastic bottom oriented bait. The rod did very well and I must say the feel of the bait moving really was satisfying but I am running braid so please take that into consideration. I imagine larger profiled Plastics would be money but depending how big you may consider rigging various ways such as OG Butch Brown if you really want to chuck the chunkier Plastics, maybe one day that will get tested but as of now this particular specimen does just fine for a 68 Special duties and my main purpose for throwing a variety of treble oriented baits with my heaviest just under 4oz. I bet the salty boys would love this for chucking irons and like type jigs from shore or on a boat for smaller pelagics, rock fish, kelp patties, etc. I don't want to assume but the folks who fish nothing but junk will probably like this for "Swamp Thing" like vegetation duty, also I think the folks blessed with mangroves will like this for snook and other fun specimens. All in a package that delights any traveling angler. Can you say a proper Amazon River Assassin?! This will definitely handle the Peacocks and other various toothy creatures. Up north boys get this if you want a muskellunge rod boom!

Okay nuff stated :P
