A few weeks ago, while testing some new swimbait sticks, I broke out my beloved GanCraft Jointed Claw 230s for some play time. Had one tied on each of two sticks I was testing. Had a hit right off the bat on one, but didn't manage to land the fish because my reel failed... Daiwa's Big Bait Special is hot garbage for big baits is all I have to say.

About an hour or so later, I get a hit on the other 230 when the bait was on pause... I could literally feel the fish slurp the bait in. I reeled in slack, went to swing and *poof* ... my connection knot at the leader failed ... of course it was the more rare color of the two and I can't even find the same pattern.

Anyway, point is, I lost one bait... one. This is how I responded...

That's the problem... i can't find it anywhere and I have no idea what it was called. It was a ghost pattern with a kind of peach colored top... not orange, not brown, but in between.. peach.

Nope... kinda sorta like the top one but without all the blue

Closest I can find is Kinokuni Orange ... but I think that's too orange... might just have to buy one to see if maybe it's just the way it photographs

Is it Kinokuni Ayu, Cal? #02 on thegan Craft site. Shows slightly different colours in different sizes. Maybe lighting, maybe not.

That's a candidate too, but mine was see through, so ... also that color doesn't seem to be available in 230 anymore so I can't just buy one to see

I am SOOOOO glad I never got really bit by the big swimbait bug. It almost happened but you help put the whole thing into perspective ... I go a bit nuts for a few extra OSP baits if I lose one but I know what those Gan Crafts costs, bless you!

As usual doing the devil's work . I was pushed every so gently into the direction of the 230 JC. One in Dark Rainbow is on the way for me to test, like I am some entity personal testing that is and as per the usual I am late to the party

My series of feelings last night when I got maybe two hours of fun slinging the Dark rainbow 230 JC. Couple things there the bait knocker unfortunately didn't save me and I believe that unfortunately had a lot to do with running line other than braids which I'm normally accustomed to not that I'm saying that as the end-all-be-all but in short last night was Uber painful so I'll probably have to pull a Cal??? maybe next year this year has been expensive thankfully it's been awhile since I lost one but man it's still super painful I think that beat out my quickest turnaround I'm losing a bait I think the last time I lost something so quick was an 8 inch bull Shad Maybe couple seasons ago now I guess anyway just thought I'd share my pain last night was a tough one folks

Is the color your looking for GCJC17898F Seethrough Kinokuni Ayu? they still make it on the 303 size
